Had this mouse been released as just a shell for Diamondback owners to replace their old ones with. It'd be mouse of the year(for me).

Ballpark measures:

Versus Original Diamondback(Rev 1, Rev 2, Plasma, Pro Solutions Rev 1):

Average: 3.55803ms
Deviation: 0.721941ms
Median: 3.12331ms
25%: 4.12153ms
75%: 3.12068ms
Min: 2.11779ms
Max: 5.12617ms

Those .12's.

OG DB wins.

Versus Ikari Optical:

Average: 8.03729ms
Deviation: 0.652986ms
Median: 7.99803ms
25%: 8.00073ms
75%: 7.99453ms
Min: 6.99106ms
Max: 9.99651ms

Ikari Wins.

Better luck next time I guess Razer? Not like they ever cared.

I still can't believe I can get higher max speed on a 10 year old Plasma though. Sigh....
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I actually didn't regret this purchase. tongue.gif

With side button pcb removed most likely.

I removed that pcb on two older DB's I had to cut the weight down. Which was like 4g. Totally not worth disfiguring the mouse over.

Corsair Scimitar. It's quite unique.

Garbage tier debounce delay. I don't know if it was lower before fw1.6, but the firmware the Scimitar shipped with supposedly had the same absurd issues fw1.6 had.

So 1.6 & 2.01 have the same delay.

scimitar1000hzrgbsolidfw106.txt 3k .txt file

+15ms averaged out of 300.

sleepysmileyanim.gif

scimitar1000hzrgbmaxfw106.txt 3k .txt file

RGB MAXED = All light zones activated, and set to the fastest strobe setting. Basically the mouse is a little rgb light show. rolleyes.gif

It's subtly different...

...because this mouse has a huge glaring issue. Depending on the light setting or just having the lights on has negative effects on the Scimitar's performance with fw 1.3 and 1.6.

Another big issue is the instability at 1000hz.

It's something I kinda want to play around with more but this mouse is just a pain to use. A big crappy brick of a mouse that I can't stand using.

There has been a tear down of this mouse already. I thought that I was going to just take photos of the things that weren't pictured, but not even that worked out. Taking apart the keypad will most likely ruin it. The keypad has leds. If I want to test the led issue more, I have to have the keypad intact and the led's on it working. I hate everything about this mouse.

So I'll just look at how mouse 1's plunger interacts with the left switch.

Pressed down: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The first pics shows where the hammer sits idle.

Pressing down moves the shell hammer backward. The hammer slides over the button on the switch. So pressing the buttons on the shell around the front edges will make the interaction feel "gummy".

Top window is Ikari aka left mouse button
Middle window is the delay between both left and right mouse button
Bottom is Xornet II right mouse button.

Anything below 4ms in the top window aka the Ikari will not register on the bottom window aka Xornet II.

For it to register the Xornet II, the mouse button has to be held down for 4ms.

This is with the breadboard setup.

LaView Technology Xornet II

Forgot I did this some weeks back.

Good news! The software didn't lie! Well after firmware 1.00 that is....

Firmware 1.00:

+16ms averaged out of 300 events

xornet2fw1_00.txt 4k .txt file

Firmware 1.00 Bootloader Mode:

+10ms averaged out of 300 events

xornet2fw1_00wbootloadermode.txt 4k .txt file

Firmware 1.02 aka software works now and the button response slider is set to 4ms:

+3.8ms averaged out of 300 events

xornet2fw1_02.txt 3k .txt file

Firmware 1.03:

+4.01ms averaged out of 300 events

xornet2fw1_03.txt 3k .txt file

Matches 2004 Diamondback's debounce delay thumb.gif

As expected, my like of the Paten Fatal1ty 1010/2020 mice carried over to this shape. Grip was nice and comfy.
