Firmware Added Button Delay Testing Attempts(Tapping mouse buttons lightly) - Page 24

Do you have an a4tech optical switch mouse to test? That would be really interesting. http://www.bloody.tw/EN/Products.php?pid=28 any of these (I think all their current/new mice are now optical switch).

Well I'm doing it with the breadboard set up. So it would just probably be just like the result on rafa's graph. The only real reason for me test the optical switches would be to test if they kept the stupid "12ms delay added on liftoff events" feature in their mice.

Dexin/EVGA X10

I love the shape of this mouse. More than the X3L version. No mushy left and right buttons.

However it's ruined by weight, A9800 and a potential build quality issue(soldered on cable). At least it has a 3 year warranty to cover that though.

Firmware 1.15:

+9ms averaged out of 300 events.

x10fw115.txt 3k .txt file

Firmware 1.26:

+6.84ms averaged out of 300 events.

x10fw126.txt 3k .txt file

Firmware 1.15 puts it in line with the X3/X5. Firmware 1.26 puts it in the "good category".

Might pick up the X3 A3090 after getting through my current playaround queue.

Hey uaokkkkkkkk do you by chance know the click latency on the Gladius? I can't find any tests for it, but I know the Sica has terrible click latency so I was wondering if the Gladius sucks just as much.

edit2:

I think there were three firmware's released for the Gladius

1.24 installer = no
1.27 installer = yes
1.28 installer = yes
1.29 installer = yes

Edit:

"I'm giving it 4 because without the updated firmware, the left click switch will click when you bump the mouse."

lol

also the earliest firmware I can find is 1.27. If there is an earlier one that's not available as an installer, it would require you to buy the mouse new and never update it. Which is dumb.

Final firmware made it Sica level. I don't know the exact number of the earlier versions. Supposedly it was excellent before they made it bad.

Now I want to know where i can get factory firmware ?

I think all the complaints of "muh clicks are too sensitive" were because of the looseness of the switch sockets and the D2F-01F's double clicking faster in the fingers of "problematic" users.

Ruined the fun for everyone like always.

Apparently we can't trust ASUS/ROG to make any good peripheral ever, how do they screw stuff up so consistently? rolleyes.gif
Thanks though, +rep.

Just found this.

This is firmware the Gladius shipped with. I can't find an installer for it so that means you're SOL if the debounce was changed on 1.27

Thankfully I don't have a Gladius and won't be buying one because I finally found the right mouse for me and just gotta stick with it, but still good info in case someone else is interested in buying/owns a Gladius.thumb.gif

What does SOL mean? (Sorry I don't know this acronym.)
