Totally unrelated but every time I see "liters per minute" I think, "what's that in real measurements?".

yea, and I always wonder why in water cooling they use Gallons per minute, with is a standard form of measurement and Celsius with is a metric form of measurement, why do they mix the two.

in my mind, if your going to use Celsius, than Liters per minute should also be used, because these are both metric forms of measurement.

also in my mind, if your going to use Fahrenheit, than Gallons per minute should be used, because they are both standard forms of measurement.

I have never understood why they mix the two forms of measurement, and I am not going to do that, if one wants to see Celsius, than I will also show Liters per Minute.

if one wants to see Fahrenheit than I will also show Gallons Per Minute.

so I am guessing that you like things in a standard form of measurement.

WHAT!,

Gallons are metric and imperial, in the US 3.79L equals 1 gallon, 4.55L in Metric is a Gallon.

Using a gallon for our purposes is easier as the measurement doesn't need to be that exact. So when we reference flow rate we use a gallon, However in your testing you want specifics therefore you should speak in liters.

However part of the reason the results of the above gallons are different is that the imperial and metric liters are different as well. No one is mixing metric and imperial with water cooling tests except for you in your mind smile.gif.

Make sure you know which system your flow meter uses and specify that it is metric or Imperial (its most likely metric). Use only C for temps, everyone that does anything with computers should know C for temps. when you start changing measurements that makes it hard.

Thats not the way I feel thats the way the world feels, you are trying to act like a gallon is a imperial only measurement its not. Gallons and Liters are both used in both metric and imperial. What your saying has no point.

Deal in liters and Celsius problem solved when you start trying to do all kinds of crazy stuff like that you confuse, I think that is your intent to confuse.

really by your own statement there are two different gallons the US gallon is 3.78Liters
and the imperial gallon with is 4.55liters
so if I buy a flow meter in Europe it will have the 4.55liter conversion programmed into it.
but if I but a flow meter in the US it will have the 3.78liter conversion programmed into it.
this is a major issue, that as far as I know, no one has really dealt with it.

they are both gallons but they do not equal the same amount of liquid.

but according to you, I am the one trying to confuse people.

here is some food for thought, a liter is a liter, no matter what country you live in.

I said use liters, You said your going to use C with Liters and F with gallons, That is why I said you are trying to confuse people.

Where you buy a PC flow meter does not make it use US or EU measurements.

If you are not going to use "PC" Flow meters than yes you are correct where you buy it makes a difference, Its easy Use liters. Temps are also easy use Celsius, no one in computers use F for temps, use C its industry standard if they want it in F they're is converters all over the net.
