MSI x99a Godlike Water Cooling Build

Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

I haven't done a WC build since around 2008 and used all swiftech stuff, so I was gonna start a build thread and ask for some advice. I just purchased a silverstone TJ07 custom MurderMod and the MSI x99a Godlike Gaming Mobo. I already have a Seasonic G-750 PSU, but i'm thinking that's not gonna be nearly enough when i'm done. 'm gonna start purchasing the rest as I get recommendations for OC since I send the case to the powder coated to get the full MurderMod done legit. Price isn't an issue here, but I'd prefer to not spend $1000 on a CPU if I can match speeds with i7-5930k and get the same performance. Also would like some info if I should just get the 128gb quad channel kit, or go with the 64 since I can't imagine needing more than that. Thanks!

well as far as memory goes I had a 16gig quad channel for my 3930K and I never used over 7.2gigs when benchmarking so when the memory popped 3 months ago I got a 8 gig set of quad channel memory, I have seen nothing that says it runs any slower at all, my benchmarks are at the same level they where.
as for suggestions on blocks I like the Raystorm CPU block by XSPC, and the Bitspower CPU block, and for the video cards I like the full cover blocks over the universal GPU blocks.
radiators I like low FPI radiators, because I do not like my systems to be real loud, but that is a personal preference.
let me know if this helps.
ask questions, I have been water cooling for 20 years, so I have seen a lot of changes over the years.

16GB is plenty and 32GB is overkill ..... get 32GB since yer going big.

In that box I'd run 2x240 and 1x480 with either a dual pump bay res or a dual pump ddc and nice tube res. EKWB makes some nice stuff.

Just get 32gb RAM. As far as WC goes keep to the mainstream brands like ek, xspc, alphacool, heatkiller, aquacomputer etc. Bitspower are kinda overpriced specialy that cpu block.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm gonna go the route you suggested ssiperko, this is the pump I was thinking and I was thinking about using their rads as well. http://www.microcenter.com/product/449113/High-performance_hydraulically_improved_pump_with_integrated_reservior. What about fittings? Last time I used barb fittings, but the compression fittings look pretty nice. I'm also getting my CPU this week, i7-9560x since it's only $900 at micro center right now and got 16gb of RAM to start out.

I am also planning on a build like this. I just ordered the Godlike Mobo and the Corsair Carbide Air 540 Case, I am upgrading from the first gen EVGA X99 Micro because the thing is a turd and wont post half of the time.
I am going for the Air 540 case so I can water cool in the future and keep most of the hardware in the back because I am sure it won't be that pretty by the time I am finished with it.

But I went ahead and ordered the Bitspower block kit for this motherboard now because I don't know if it will be sold out soon or not.
Here is a link and picture if you never heard of it.

Edit: wow just realized how old this thread is, sorry for the revive.

If you don't plan on using this right away you might as well wait for the new Godlike Gaming Carbon to come out. I keep trying to find a date, but even though it's listed on their website they have no idea. I have to RMA mine since the 6.3mm jack just stopped working and I use it daily since it sounds much better. I attached a photo of my build so far without the watercooling so you can see how the red looks just incase that was your deciding factor. I just ordered the Samsung 950 pro as well, so i'm excited to see how that performs with this.

Looks great, and yeah, I decided to wait for the carbon, though my system is buggy with the current mobo, I can still wait for it. I do plan on a red theme anyways but the idea of a new revision sounds good. Color wont matter too much because of the chipset waterblocks I ordered anyways but I've got some red sleeved corsair cables on the way and I am thinking about getting a few of those sleeved Bitfenix sata data cables as well.
Also waiting on money too, it will likely be a while until I have it all, and with a loop too.
