Thread Starter
I went with the Intel so I could upgrade the CPU later and have a better overall rig. Right now the stock 6300 would be best for gaming... but I rarely get to game... I'm talking a couple hours a week if I get to play at all during a week...

The Intel rig also lets me finally make good use of this ram I bought... and in windows and basic tasks it feels very snappy, faster than my OC'd PII for basic tasks.

The motherboard had bent pins though... but I fixed... hate these types of sockets with pins on the mobo already... insane...

And Intel push pins... I absolutely LOATHE Intel push pins... worst design I've ever had the displeasure of using. Will be getting an h100i in a few months I think...

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone. Much appreciated. Wish I coulda went with the 6300 but in the long run having to get a new good mobo to OC it vs getting a nice CPU for 1150 I think the tiny extra cost of the 1150 in my case makes it the better upgrade path and the crappy Pentium works fine for me for the moment...

The pentium g3220 its not old and crappy, it has the haswell architecture that is pretty new, and it gives a very solid performance for the price, in fact it is newer than the fx 6300, anyways, he is not keeping it for long, he said he was going to upgrade to an i5 or something

Yea it aint old but it perform the same as 4 years old pentium from intel.... Except lower power comsumption.

I think the older gen where like g2220 or something.

Upgrading to an i5 is going to be a big improvement lot higher clock and if overclocking it even better biggrin.gif
