I realise there aren't many programmers on here but don't people realise AMD GCN architecture is parallel if you go in and parallelise your code it will run faster on GCN. If you stick to sequential then NVidia is faster. Direct X12 allows even more parallelisation. It's why AMD want to increase their footprint in the PC space so that in porting stuff from consoles the parallel nature is carried across. I had a good read from cloud imperium games on how they took the parallelisation of code and operations then utilised what they could from DX12 in DX11. If you stick just using DX12 in sequential manner then you end up with RoTR where NVidia holds the advantage...

Call me crazy but, the colors on the RX 480 look a lot more vibrant compared to the 1060.

It's not uncommon for NVIDIA to sacrifice image quality to eek out an extra frame or two.

EDIT: Another game which NV needs to issue a seizure warning.

I also see the 1060 side hitching every now and again (eg, when after the benchmark, him running towards a car and the movement on the 1060 was shaky). Anyone else notice or am I dreaming

image quality is different in other games as well though, most notably BF4, DOOM and AotS. It's not worth arguing, there will be more cases, as this is ancient going back to the early 00's.

it depends on the setting you have in the driver, if its set high by default obviously it will have worse LOD but apples to apples its the same, also performance wise its minor
