And here GTA V's clouds don't seem to like DirectX 10 at all.

Looks like developers are implying DirectX 10 isn't able to render grass as well.

take that griffin head as a trophy and strap to your saddle. then get on your horse and ride. compare hw on and off. hairworks isn't about static shots only. If it was I'd probably just turn it off.

Well in case of DirectX 10 I consider the technology well dead and well buried, and I can understand cases when people dont bother to do anything except the very basic rendering. But clouds can be always gimmicked by a static skybox texture even in case you make your game compatible with Direct 7.0 for some reason biggrin.gif. But in case of Witcher 3 I expected compatibility in DirectX 9.0, 10 and definitely 11. There are ways to do it without any such gimmick in each of those... "D

To Klocek001:
I can imagine that (i had one TressFX demo from TombRaider so I have an idea how it looks in motion). But I am almost sure that you dont need that for dynamic clouds...

Yeah.
The movement of hair in witcher 3 is absolutely amazing, even if the main character hair looks off sometimes, the added value to the overall feel of the game is amazing.

Comparing animal hair between rise of the tomb raider and witcher 3, on the witcher 3 the quality is so far superior. Of course it also affects performance, but you get more out of it.

Thats not what i asked.

What dx12 done so far in games?

Amd maybe selling more cards, but that doesnt have an affect on dx12.

Well we have seen GPUs are getting utilized more efficiently and we sure have seen new eye candies as well. Play Quantum Break or Forza Motorsport 6 for example and you'll know how even an i3 is almost able to fully feed the GPU most of the time.

Apart from that Developers did see something in DX12 and it seems they know very well why they are choosing it over DX11.

I know where you're coming from, it was much better if it was supported in Win7/8/8.1 as well. And I am sad about that too. But what else can you do.
