Most responsive keyboard with short stroke

Currently I got a Ducky Shine 4 MX Red keyboard. However, im not overly satisfied with it. I type much wrong with it, compared to other keyboards. It seems stiffer then other MX reds ive tried and also less responsive and clicky, and maybe the stroke is longer. So I want a new keyboard.
Whats the most responsive keyboards with fairly short stroke? Maybe get a membrane?

I play mostly CS, so I want to be able to make very fine movement with ez.

Orion Spark (G910) IIRC has the shortest stroke of them all. I have it and I like it however, a bit of a learning curve as the keys have weird shapes. Also, the actuation although fully mechanical, kinda reminds me of rubber domes. It has a nice silent tactile feel, but because they are so silent and the shape of the switch it does remind me a bit of the rubber domes. If you think that's something you can deal with its a great keyboard. I only have experience with razer, corsair and Logitech so my frame of reference is a bit limited hope that helps some.

I would recommend adding o-rings to your keyboard before you decide to replace it.

I am using MXRed with 1.5mm o-rings that I bought on Amazon ($4 and free shipping for 120 o-rings). This shortens up the overall travel substantially (~2.5mm to bottom, pretty close to scissor switches) so they are great for gaming, while still having the reliable actuation that you get with mechanical switches.

MX switches acutate at about 1.8-2.2mm and bottom out at about 4mm, so you can reduce the overall travel substantially.

If you want shorter total travel (rest to bottom-out), O-ring is your friend. If you want short trigger travel, it's tricky.

not sure if it's better than cherry mx6.0 but it should be high in the list aswell
The A4Tech has about the same triggering travel as a Cherry and a bit more total travel. As an optical it's purely linear. Probably not what OP wants.

Actual triggering performance/reliability is obviously better than any mechanical but the tactile feeling is quite different.

Aventadoor have you tried putting 1 or even 2 orings to your keys ? It's very easy and it can shorten the travel distance and maybe it will be just enough for you to like it

No I havent, and I will try that before I buy a MX Board 6.0
post #10 of 14
will 2 orings actuate on red and brown MX? I might buy multiple sets to try this out. i feel my k65 is too sensitive and too tall.
