Oh, so it varies per state. Is there a way for me to find out? I'm in Utah.

Customs are already applied and don't depend on the state you live, customs apply on a federal level. US has a trade agreement with S. Korea so the cost is very low on items below $2500. Even above $2500, it's ~0.9% IIRC.

To be sure, maybe ask the seller to write "Repair - Return to Customer" or something like this ? Not a puchase = no taxes I guess ?

That's basically fraud and they would want the paper trail anyway. The customs fees are extremely low, if you paid $1000 for an item out of S. Korea, your US customs fees amount to ~$10 and are typically included into the purchase price. Other countries I can't speak for but some of them have much higher import fees. Generally, the poorer the country you are importing into, the higher the fees, some up to 40% of the declared value.

TL;DR If you are importing into US out of S. Korea, don't even worry about it.

That's good to know, so basically no taxes lol. Well, now to buy a good video card, don't think my radeon 7970 GHz is gonna cut it for 4k gaming 😂

I don't think ~4 ft is enough for a 55" running 1440p, 4ft is just about the ideal view distance for 55" pushing 4K without scaling.

4K is very demanding by default, even a temporary video card to use until better 4K video cards come out is going to be expensive.

Individual user eye sight, type of apps and calibration also matter, what works for me may not work for someone else and vice versa.

If you do buy one, tell the seller about damages these monitors suffer in transit and demand better packaging.

EDIT: With all the time I had on my hands past week, I've researched large screens and did quite a bit of data mining.
The seller has sold 4 UHD 550's since mine, including three to one buyer. All UHD 550's are absent from the feedback list.
The seller is pushing volumes of smaller sized monitors and receiving positive feedback on majority of them, leading me to believe that the larger and heavier monitors require extra protection to survive the trips to their destination.

Interesting. When I received mine from Green-Sum it was in a crate. I wonder why the other sellers do not ship in a crate? Maybe it cost more. Well, I hope you get it resolved soon. Remember if you have to, tell the seller you will open a claim to expedite the service.

I post the 3D firmware on the main page for you. Let us know how it works!

No, I've ordered several Korean monitors since 2012 and I have never paid any taxes.

Hello all, new to the forums. I have been PC gaming on a 42 inch 1080p hdtv for 10 years. I have been waiting for a true monitor to finally show up for a decent price. I am set on the UHD550. I ordered a perfect pixel from newegg 2 days ago. Got an email from Korea stating that they had misjudged their inventory and were out of those. They offered an up to 10 pixel and grey tinted model at a discount, I said no thanks. Newegg refunded me quickly, good ol newegg.

I want to order this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/121945109012?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true

I have never ordered from ebay before. Is it legit? Can I safely order from them? Thanks for the advice.

Don't know about the guarantee on dead pixels but I've seen several guys here just buying the non perfect pixel and they didn't get any dead pixels. I'm just going to save and order a regular. Even having some, being that I'm going to put the monitor on my living room I don't think some dead pixels would be noticeable from my couch lol.
