That must be one of the worst 5820ks if it can only do 4 GHz. Or that guy doesn't know how to OC Haswell-E.
Anyway glad with my 5820K purchase, runs pretty cool and can hit 4.5 GHz below 1.300V.

Well 4790k are now overpriced with ddr4 price so low.

Still happy i do 13.5k Passmark so almost a 5820k stock smile.gif


I wish i waited and got the 5820k... Soldered... ddr4.... Big Die Easy to cool... Better resale value... etc biggrin.gif

I can only add that with asus realbench I tested a 4790k at 4.5ghz and a 5820k at 4.5ghz and the photo edit score (single thread performance?) was dead even. All the other benchmarks in realbench are multithreaded so its no contest. If I had to choose I think I would go x99 still. The 6700k is out of stock everywhere I have looked but you still get more pci-e lanes on a 5820k and 2 more cores for in some cases cheaper than a 6700k. If near a microcenter or catch it on sale at a frys (yes sign up for their promo codes it has hit $299-330 on occasion) it can be had for less than a 6700k....well my MC is out of stock but think their tag said $350 for a 6700k.

Yea like i said some time back..

5960x = 4790k sticked together..... In simple it the same architecture except some change like cache etc
