at what clock rates does 3570K must be overclocked to reach 6600K performances in gaming?

6600k brings pretty much damn gap in Witcher 3 & GTA5 compared to the other i5 K-series out there...http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-intel-skylake-core-i5-6600k-review

Would the 6600k be overclocked at all? I could try and set up a benchmark and compare numbers with on the web. Core speeds are not always everything when it comes to gaming newer architecture should allow better performance and efficiency. Btw still looking for stress test software besites the 3 I mentioned.

Hi smile.gif

Going by Anands results I would imagine a 3570k at 4.5 or thereabouts would probably be a little better then a stock I5 6600k. AFAIK games dont really use any of the new instruction sets included in the new arch.

For stress testing I can recommend Folding@home as well as the three you mentioned.

https://folding.stanford.edu/

let it run through a few CPU units and you can do some good at the same time, I would imagine if you've managed to get Prime stable overnight plus you're probably O.K.

BF4 multiplayer is also good. I've also found that if you run a lot of Youtube videos at once and get flash player crashes that can be a sign of instabililty. Keep checking event viewer for app crashes and WHEA errors, if you dont get any problems I'd call it good to go. Keep checking event viewer though for a good while, after a little while you might need to bump the voltage slightly kind of like a burn in period.

Nice chip you have there btw thumb.gif

Ok, about my p95 crashes... I'm starting to think it may be either the application or my ram that is causing the issue. I set everything back to stock just to check and wouldn't you believe Prime 95 stops working after about 3.5 hrs. I guess the next step is to try better ram and test again.

Thanks for the folding at home suggestion will give it a go +REP
