Guessing that was 72c on the Cores?
That sounds about right for only a 120mm working on 220 watts rolleyes.gif

Hows the socket temp holding out?
I run these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10767/cab-195/FrozenCPU_Temperature_Probe_Cable_-_2-Pin_-_25.html (sorry I'm lazy and did not grab a link from a reputable supplier) and very carefully insert probe under the VRM/NB WB and wedge it tight against the hottest spot I can locate using a IR thermometer and connect to the Opt 2 Sensor pin connection and monitor using HWInfo64. This shows how the VRMs stay slightly cooler than the socket thus not generating any chance of heat soak. The other two read Dram and inlet air ambient.

I'd hold off going higher till you get the other rad/s installed.
Common rule is if you can cool it, you can clock it biggrin.gif
Look to stay a lot closer to 60c or less when under load/testing

Wait till you run some IBT AVX set to Very High or Maximum lol. http://www.overclock.net/attachments/13202
That will test those rads.

Just for reference, CPU, VRM/NB and GPU WBs all on one loop here with a RX360 and a EX140 and rarely do I exceed low to mid 50s while encoding for hours.
Most I've seen testing is 64c with room ambient at 25 to 26c with OC in rig sig.

As for the CPU VID not changing, it shouldn't at all after you disable PS and turbo features. Once you reach your goal then enable PS if you like, I do.

I was running very little LLC so it was getting some vdroop. The VID should never change as that is the voltage your motherboard has decided it will take to run it at its rated speed, in this case 5ghz. The vcore is what is running through it at the moment, or what it is set at.

It sounds like it is running kinda hot. 70C is the max you should see and only in short bursts. A 120 radiator will not cool it well at all.

Have you tried it with all default settings? It should run great like that and turbo to 5 no problem.

Ok totally re-doing my post for an update instead of making another edit.

I now have my Vcore @ 1.4375ish (cant remember at the top of my head)

I have ran P95 for 3hrs w/o any issues..

I still have c1e and c6 enabled i will disable them when i get home..

I ran IBT with 10 runs X 2 on High and passed

Played SC2 for approx 1 hr w/o an issue

I stop p95 at 3hr mark because of heat issues (still running 120mmx60mm) dont know where my rads are ughhh frown.gif

Im at a Stable 4.7Ghz.. which im stocked because i got there lower than stock Vcore
FSB is 200
Ratio 23.5

i will play with my ratio frequency setting when i get home and see if i can lower my Vcore..
Also might up my NB and HT..

What are the max ratings for the HT and NB for CVFZ??

Ideally you want to set HT and NB to 2500-2600, matched. This is the sweet spot for performance, combined with a mixed overclock between CPU multi and FSB. Above 2600, the NB tends to get wildly unstable, hindering performance, while there seems to be zero tangible benefit from running the HT higher than 2600.

ok so i should run both the NB and HT at 2600???
my 9590 is completely stable now...
it wasnt nearly the monster some people make it out to be..
i plan on trying to OC it as high as possible sometime next week..
i was even considering making a new thread about OC this cpu and what i did to get it stable, im assuming i had less issues because i already had adequate cooling

When you say completely stable how was this tested?
If it passes 10 runs on very high or better yet 20 runs on maximum (10 on max min) I would move ahead for now and save P95 for later when you're closer to your goal.
Stability here has become subjective depending on ones usage/needs, I'm old school and all my OC's are at a min 24 hr P95 stable plus while some only look to be game stable.
The reason I mention this is it's best to determine how stable you wish to be early in the game as it can change the game plan with testing.

Yeah i have my LLC set only to high.. so i will raise that to ultra.. then i could possibly lower my Vcore??
And yes i will post up some pics as soon as i get home (approx 13hrs)
And completely stable is that it passed IBT on MAX with 10 passes twice and i ran small p95 for 6 hrs and large p95 for 6 hours
and played some SC2 for about 2 hrs lol (which can be picky with OC's)

Before you raise the LLC take note of your Vcore under load.
To start out, simply try to duplicate that value but with Ultra High LLC and less Vcore.

Sorry i haven't posted pics yet i have been slacking lol me and my girl have been hooked on the walking dead on netflix
so Sandman youre saying that i need to put my LLC on Ultra High with my Vcore set to its Max currently?
or should i leave it where it is and the run IBT and see where my avg/min/max Vcore usage is and adjust accordingly,
as im already satisfied with my Vcore usage as i feel like its already lower than other peoples lol but id LOVE to get it even lower of course haha
