24/7 Single Map servers PISS ME OFF! You will see 1000+ of those servers and on top of that with stupid enforced admin rules.

If the servers are dedicated and run by EA with Kick Options thats cool, Ill take it. Map rotation is nice, but 24/7 servers ruin it.
You can join another server you know?
Why should a server accommodate to your demands?
There is a reason those servers exists and it is because people enjoy a certain map. Hai de_dust2.

fy_iceworld all day (but like 10 years ago tongue.gif )

But yeah I played BF3's Gulf of Oman almost exclusively. I don't care for the bigger maps XD

QFT.... Sorry, multiplayer alone is not worth $60 without some extra fluff. They can toss a campaign together in half the time they spend on multiplayer fluff. Writers for these campaigns are a dime a dozen and the environments are already there for the most part. Sure, theres a lot more to it, but with the money and time they dump into these games anymore, they can set aside whats needed for a quality campaign.
Can you even imagine how many Star Wars fans would buy this JUST for the campaign if it was even half good?

You're trying to hold on to something that was never meant to be. Battlefield was never a campaign type of game, and neither is Battlefront. Could they add it? Sure, but why waste that money when a very small minority will play it. I personally would like to see their numbers on this because that's what they're basing that decision on.

I'd say more people than you'd think actually play the campaign. Whether or not that was the selling point is probably 50/50 (or 30/70), but still. These types of games don't revolve around campaign since the lasting gameplay IS multiplayer, but a good campaign (story) can stick with people and have a larger impact than the innumerable rounds played over and over. A stand out round may give you a 'wow' effect for a little while til something else happens, a good story can stick with you a LOT longer.

I think both halves of this debate are right in their own ways. There is no right/wrong here, just opinions. I'd love to see more campaigns, and until then won't be paying full release price on a game that only has multiplayer. Just personal preference there.

Never played bf3 campaign and only played bf4 campaign for unlocks.

Couldn't care less about SP...

but BF4 seemed worse than most games when it came to getting shot behind walls and bullets not registering problem on these kinds of players.
so he's likely talking about the garbage netcode that won't ever be fixed.
The netcode is still an issue across all platforms, even after multiple "fixes". I'm sure Battlefront will inherit some of these issues as well.

Netcode in Battlefield is not an easy task. This video explains the issues well. The author has done a lot of technical analysis of Battlefield netcode.

Hang on, look at what he said. The game will have dedicated servers it uses, he said nothing about being able to run a dedicated server for the game. On top of which, still no server browser means you definitely wont be able to run your own dedicated server. So yes, there will be dedicated servers housed at EA which is nice and all, especially over sucky multiplayers where the host always wins from ping, but this is still a huge step away from being a quality PC release where clans can be in the game and people can host stuff and do mods and any of that.
