i7-6700k Canada pricing

Thread Starter
Hey all,

I sold my 2600k + mobo for 340$ CAD (approx 260$ US).
Now I kind of regret it a bit. I had to take apart my custom water loop because I hadn't done it for 2 years so I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade.
Well, i7-6700k is selling for 479.99$+ in Canada. I am seeing pricing of 500+$! That's mental. For 400-450$ I remember getting CPU+mobo combo.
350$US => 455$CA, I believe something else is driving prices up (low stock). I am not in an hurry but I am starting to fell like I won't be gaming for a while (maybe until next year...!!!)
I have some samsung "wonder" ram, they were great but just gather the dust now. I wonder if I should just sell them. I am quite depressed seeing the price of upgrading. Even with 340$ in my pocket, I would still have to spend nearly 300$ extra for CPU + mobo.

here in US 6700K is out of stock everywhere. there is a shortage of 6700K in the US. some retail stores like frys electronics are starting to get the regular, non k, 6700 in stock while online stores haven't appeared to get those in yet. I recently just bought a regular 6700 myself. so canada might be facing a shortage as well.

Sorry to say but pricing and availability should have been looked at long before selling anything off. Your fault for that one. as for what do to now why not look at someone who may be in the same boat but is offloading a haswell/devils canyon system?
That way you would have a newer chip, could still use your current ddr3 ram, and you would be set for a while until better DDR4 units come out with better availability and pricing.

edit: here's some ideas:
