For me, PLP eyefinity at 5440x1600 (aka a few pixels more than 3840x2160) Last I checked, nvidia doesn't support PLP surround thumb.gif

"1440p" is a meaningless marketing terms, 3440x1440 is a lot more pixels than 2560x1440, and both are "equally 1440p".

PLP stands for portrait-landscape-portrait right? What is the benefit to this? Are you using 16:9 combined with 4:3 or something?

I use (in the PLP setup itself) one central, horizontal 16:10, with two 16:9 vertical on each side. The main advantage to this is being able to have a wider and more immersive view in games without having to bother with the insane width it would be if I had all three of them horisontal, 2.0m vs 1.48m which is already so wide it requires a little planning, or in my case, a custom desk. Furthermore, in the productive programs I use, being able to have a mix of hor and ver monitors is quite nice. Turning my monitors from hor to ver multiple times a day is just not in any way acceptable for me.

One downside is that I don't get the full height of my vertical monitors when I enable eyefinity (yet?) so I have to enable and disable eyefinity when I want to game. An inconvenience, but compared to physically moving things around it's a very livable compromize.

Very much so. While I have seen a few PLP setups on among others /r/battlestations, it's not the norm. And since the HW was introduced with the R9 285, which didn't exactly blow anyone or anything out of the water, I'd expect it to take time before PLP becomes more normal. I am kinda confused as to why AMD hasn't been telling everyone and their cat about this feature. I guess just another case of AMD marketing working in "mysterious ways". rolleyes.gif

Here's two images to help visualize how my setup works:

XFX also showed off their air cooled version of the Fury. Design is similar to Sapphire's.

It looks good but can they make it just the length of the PCB?

My thoughts exactly, just like Sapphire's. Then you have ASUS whose Fury PCB is around 11".

So much this.. You think they are worried with making it a shorter dual-fan model that will poach Fury X & Nano sales?

Just lop off the last fan/heatsink real-estate and i'd put it on my short list. But you might be on to something Pesmerrga regarding the compromise of their high-end GPU sales.

yeah, you're kinda right. I nevrr wanted a fury in the first place after the reviews, and 980ti seems better priced so IDK if it would've been worth it to order from DE, maybe if I wanted to save every penny, but my 980ti was cheap enough already.

I honestly used to champion AMD a lot, even with this release initially, but there stock has crashed again, copyright issues on the watercooler, and overall, when you overclock a fury you see little actual gains, whereas you overclock a 980 ti, you see quite large gains in actual real world fps.

I am leaning towards finally going with the green team and just grabbing me a 980 ti honestly, then selling it when pascal hits and buying me a pascal.
