390x low firestrike and heaven scores.

Thread Starter
So I bought an XFX 390x DD and I tested it out and my firestrike score was 9818 which seems a bit on the low side?

I got a heaven benchmark score of 1442 as well.

I am not sure if CPU makes a difference but I have an i5 4690k.

i just noticed that in that gpu chart 3dmark has, they use 3dmark 11 for some reason.

Slay your score is over a 1000 more than mine. Does the processor affect the result you posted? You have skylake and I have devils canyon. Your GPU and memory is clocked 100MHz higher on each though.

i thought that in this link right here http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu/AMD+Radeon+R9+390X/review
that they were using the graphics score and not the total 3dmark score. then i noticed they were 3dmark 11 scores.... so ignore me lol. yea ur right.

Pretty much the 390x isn't gonna perform right until you hook it up on PCIe 3.0 motherboard... PCIe 2.0 will limit it big time at 8GB/s max through the slot... on PCIe 3.0 it's 16GB/s through the slot... So it can handle more data per second and it's a PCIe 3.0 GPU so yeah it'll help to upgrade to PCIe 3.0 Ryzen R7 1700 on Infinity Fabric....

Stock probably looking at 30% increase in scores and 60fps physics.... which is saying something my Dual X5650 12 Cores/ 24 Threads hits 47fps...

I'd guess like 13-14-15k total score possibly with tuning on properly running SAMSUNG Corsair DDR4-3200 Ram as well... 16GB to 32GB recommended.

PCI-e 3.0 vs 2.0 for the GTX 1080:
https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_PCI_Express_Scaling/22.html

Didn't check the whole thing but we're talking about ~3-4% here and that is for the GTX 1080.
I don't know what Big time means for you but that is certainly not a big bottleneck. Have you actually researched before posting?
