Mad Catz amBX Gaming Lights - 70% Off!

I'd always been curious about these things, but I knew they weren't very bright and it'd cost an arm and a leg to buy a few sets to make it worthwhile. It seems I'm not the only one who was hesitant about this product. So now they're apparently clearing them out. And at 70% off...it's a hell of a deal. So I just ordered 3 sets of them, for less than the price of 1 set. I don't have them yet as I just placed my order, so I can't give you any details about how well they do/don't work. But they're the same technology you may remember seeing on Philips plasma TVs a few years back.

Anyway, while I'm not entirely sure if this product is worth the $110 or whatever they wanted for them before, at $29.99 it seems silly to not give it a try.

I am still confused as to how or why a gamer would need this....or even for music or movies?

Im tempted to try though lol

edit: Actually I can see how it can work for music. It reminds me of those little speakers they sell at toy stores that have ligthing and little water fountain like mechanism that squirt up depending on the musics rhythm or something lol.

But spending 30 bucks for one...even for me, it feels a tad bit expensive lol, let alone buying two.

Only reason I can see this people buying them is because it looks cool with a set up...thats it

I believe it comes 2 per set. So $15 each. tongue.gif Mood lighting is pretty epic for movies.

Just noticed that its 2 per set lol

But still, I cant see myself buying something from Madcatz.....Ever since my early Gameboy color games and foward, buying their stuff always seemed to break or not function right.

And if they are on clearance, if they go bad....will the warranty still be effective? I bet they dont make them anymore.

Yeah...I wouldn't expect any warranty. But for $29.99 I'm not worried. Mad Catz was absolute trash. Their playstation controllers were the ones I made my friends use when they came over. Haha. But they also make some really solid stuff now like the Rat 9 mouse. Also amBX isn't their technology. Philips used to sell them too. And now they sell speakers with the amBX lighting built in. My only real concern with them is the brightness level. And I guess also how much of a wiring nightmare I'm going to have to deal with if I'm installing 6 of them. tongue.gif
