I wonder how these different architectures fare, since Directx 12 is coming and all sorts of lighting effects become possible on pc's and consoles. PS4 had been stated to have been harnessing a low level API already, but I haven't seen its api explicitly being mentioned as a lighting quality enhancer.

due to the PC version has a huge scale of different machines to support, and majority of the community plays on a low/mid spec PCs.

Basically saying it's easier to build a game assuming low then to build a game hopping for high. I guess the devs want people with their laptops and "750 ti's" to get a woody when they turn the game on and "max" it out.

Just because a PS4 version (at what, 900p 30 fps) may have technically more advanced visuals still doesn't mean it's more capable or even close to a higher end PC setup running it at 4k and over 60 fps +. Keep the slightly more advanced visuals. I'll take higher res and fps thank you.

Of course there's the "less direct route to the hardware" to always consider for PC. Hopefully that gets aired out some with DX12. Still, a higher end system should be able to power its way past anything a console can dream of. Like they've been doing for years.

Just for correctness sake, it's 1080p/60fps.

All of your other statements have already been beaten to a pulp.

Doesnt look as good as War Thunder can imo. And it scales from flying to ground in the same game, i always wondered how they do distance rendering from airplanes based on how close you are and how much detail you have to load...

Cuz you can fight planes and tanks in the same map, spawn points for planes are a few miles out from where tanks spawn, so its actually way better air/ground combat than Battlefield since you ACTUALLY HAVE ROOM to dogfight in the air... and arent in a jet engine plane that can only travel 200mph in a tiny battlefield map goes out of bounds every 5 secs

BF 1942 had it best due to the planes being propeller driven and slow enough to work on the tiny maps that soldiers and tanks play on as well...

You cant ignore the fact that jets take an enormous amount of space to fly and fight in....

And to be more on top, you can play War Thunder on PS4 too!! I wonder how that game looks on it.. (and they play on the same servers as pc players do, its pretty fun!!)

EDIT: And i think there is a misinterpretation of demographic involved with these games...

I know of lots of older folk who play war thunder and world of tanks/planes, people who were vets or are in the military, older guys and what not. If that is a chunk of their gaming demographic, then you surely cant rely on them to be running a sophisticated high end gaming machine....

Which is why War Thunder (i cant say for world of tanks/planes) was made to run pretty easy on low graphical settings, and can be tuned into a cinematic maker with movie mode.... (what they use for trailers is in game footage in engine, cept when its IRL footage and stuff, lol)

I know, I was confused when he said 900p 30fps lol. I was more confused when he metioned:

Good look trying to get 4k at 60fps. That would require a lot of money, a lot. And for this case, even if you manage to do, the game doesnt look all that different for WoT. It just makes a slight improvement. I rather take the graphical improvement IMO then the slight improvement on sharpness.

WoT is infamous for running like arse even on strong rigs, its a single-threaded game. If they ported to consoles maybe it means they figured out how to multithread and will optimize the PC version eventually. Either way, its not like WoT is known for its graphics. If you want pretty tonks, play War Thunder.

I'm sure that "60" fps goes out the window as soon as anything demanding goes on. Hell, wouldn't be surprised to see "dynamic" resolutions also.

Maybe. Still as true as it ever was though. If anything sounds to me like the Sony and/or Microsoft lubed some pockets to get the PC version dumbed down.

Update : The game will be running 30fps not 60fps, this was just recently updated by a developer which was confirmed by DualShockers.

Guess you need to update the first post OP.

I'll still give it a shot (no pun intended), already have a wargaming acct for PC version anyway.
The game isn't particularly fast paced, but yea would have taken 60fps over the graphics bump on a F2P game as it is.
