Since i dont have a usb3 port on my netbook can i connect an external drive to a network switch directly and connect to it wirelessly or via gigabit lan

Hi there,

I you want to use your external drive as Network Attached Storage ( NAS) you connect it to a router with a USB port, a switch won't be able to provide the functionality you are looking for. Good luck.
