Games artifacting. Can't pin point the cause, please help.

My rig is the one in my sig. I'm getting some massive slowdowns and crazy artifacting in some random games. Some newer, and some older.

I sent my GPU in for an RMA, and I just got an email tonight stating that they can't find anything wrong with it. My issues only occur when playing in fullscreen, which enables xfire. When playing windowed, and only one Gpu is being utilized, then I encounter no problems (minus the much lower frames). I've tested other cards with no issues, such as my wife's 290x.

I'm at a loss, these issues occur on every driver release since omega, that includes xfire profiles. I've tried DDU as well, to no avail.

Could be an issue with the power supply? Or something wrong with the PCIe slots? Did you try that specific card in anyone elses system?

What were the temps like? Slow downs could be throttling due to heat? How old is the card?

I see you have a custom loop. Does that mean your GPU is under water?

My PSU is about 2 years old, and the GPU was bought in Jan. Everything else is new as of May/June.

I assume the PCIe slots are okay, since the 290x I'm using as backup is fine and it's in the same slot.

Temps are good and never above 75c. The gpu isn't in my custom loop. I bought a block and started having issues with the card, so I never installed the block.

I can't try the card in another system, sadly, I don't know anyone closeby who PC games, and it won't fit inside my wife's case.

The unending problems of trying to figure out hardware lol. Take the wifeys MB out and put it on cardboard and run it? KIND of a lot of work but...that's a pricey card you got there that needs some fixin.

Well, at the moment it is at xfx for testing. Should I insist on further testing or let them send it back to me?

I would say insist of further testing, they probably only run a stress test not play any games, ask if they can try playing some games on it.

I have replied asking them to test 2 specific games where I always have issues, with specific instructing on how to replicate. Now the waiting game.

I really hope they see it, because I just know (feeling kind of know) as soon as I get it back and put it in, the issues will be present.

Yep sods law would mean exactly that if you receive it back. Unfortunately it is sometimes difficult to replicate these things, I worked at a computer store for a while and we sometimes had to test components in scenarios much like yours.

I think if worst comes to worst, they can't replicate the issue, you get it back, you keep using it, it starts to artifact more, you send it back again and then hopefully it will replicate and you can get a replacement.

This is so true. I know how hard it is to replicate issues in a lab, just frustrating.

I really just want a replacement, I love the card, when it works. I just want it to work as well and as consistently as it used to.

what aboutt he VRM temperature?or using different drivers/OS?
what if you check you CPU stability?
