Crazy idea

So.... I'm thinking about selling my sig rig. Monitor and all and getting a PS4. With a newborn I just really don't have much time anymore to tinker nor the money to feed my upgrade itches like I used to. I think I'm at the point in this hobby where I just want to pop in a game and play and not worry about settings, drivers and resolutions. I love my PC dearly but outside of playing BF4 maybe once or twice a week I don't even touch it anymore. What do you guys think? Seems like the best deal right now is the Destiny Taken King bundle for $399.

I'm in the same boat at times. Its really hard with a newborn as well, your first year will just meld into a sick version of Ground Hog Day, at least that's how it was with me lol

Don't do it, man. Your rig is overkill to the point where you won't need to upgrade anything for a good long while. If you want to simulate the "pop it in and go" experience, just let GeForce experience decide your game settings, and never tinker with them. If you want to sell your rig to free up some cash, then don't turn around and grab a PS4. If you net $1000 for your rig (unlikely), and you blow $400 immediately on a PS4, you're ending up with like $600. Not worth it at all for such a massive downgrade.

Ssgtnubb lol yeah man it's like that but totally worth it.

PriestofSin,

Yeah those are great points that I'm thinking about. Here in Atlanta Craigslist is filled with far worse rigs than mine for way more money. I was thinking of posting it for $1200 for rig, monitor, kb, mouse and a couple other accessories. Those other guys have half thrown together garbage and wires all over the place. Mine looks professional lol. I guess I could post it just to see what happens. Worst case I don't sell it and I still have a badass pc.

I'm sure I will miss it. If I was still playing WoW this would never even cross my mind. My wife is like super shocked I brought it up but it just feels like the right thing to do for whatever reason.

Wow it sounds like I'm talking to myself. My wife was totally shocked, like she thought i was going to tell her i was terminally ill or something, lol. You'll be good, I'm sure youll get back into pc's down the road as i plan on doing. thumb.gif

run your rig at stock clocks to avoid any OC hiccups, and just take 2 minutes to tweak any settings if even necessary on a new game and away you go! thumb.gif

I run a mild OC on cpu and nothing on the GPU. The tweaking is more for my 21:9 monitor really. Thanks for the input and taking time to comment bud thumb.gif

No problem, and as someone else had said your rig is beefy enough where you shouldn't have to service it for at least a couple years. The 3770k should still be kicking pretty good for a while yet. If i didn't catch a good deal on a 4770k i would still be rocking my 2600k. biggrin.gif
