Cant overclock 4690k

Thread Starter
Hey guys so im running a 4690k on a msi z97m motherboard and when i go into the bios. My multiplier is greyed out and cant be changed. Ive tried going into this in different ways from turbo boost to manually to advanced and nothing happens. But if i go into msi command center it allows me to oc it.... I have the ltest version of the bios aswell. Im thinking about removing my cpu and putting it back in because i just dont know what else it can be. 😓 has anyone heard of this problem before?

I overclocked my 4690k on my MSI Z97M Gaming. (to 4.7 GHz) so it is definitely possible.

There's pins too on the board to reset it, not only the button.

CPU Ratio must be set to manual.

I know lol but it wont let me. See i can only change the things that have [...] on it and that does not. Ive oced before i just dont know why i cant now, im going to try the bios 1.7 since 1.8 didnt do anything. So it didnt work even tried version 1.4. Super weird im going to have to rma it hopefully its not the cpu.

The weird thing is that it will oc in command center and if i press the oc button on the motherboard 😩
