It cant be good as freesync. If you have more fps than refresh rate of monitor (let say 60) it turn vsync on.
There is mouse lag. If there is less fps than monitor refresh it turn vsync off and there is tearing.
It just prevent vsync waiting for next picture to be rendered...

I've never tried it. I'm just curious what other people think who have tested it. Since that one guy was so adamant at how well it works, I wanted to see what other people thought.

It work good if you prefer tearing over 30 fps stutter.
Option witch i missed after i switched gtx 770 with r9 390.
Now with 980TI i use it again in some games.

I don't have a Nvidia card either. I have a furyX it works. It gives me no tearing with freesync on and I still get high fps outside my freesync range and no tearing.

hello, i have just bought a lg 24mp68vq that has freesync at 75hz and i have a rx 480. i have some doubts:

I have activated fresync on the AMR radeon soft and on the monitor but on games new or olds i can get it to wotk fine ( Crysis 3, DOOM, GTA V, ropcket league, DIRT 3 and BTF 4) do i have to activate vsync on evry game beside the freesync?? for example DOOM have 3 options:
vsync: ON, OFF or adaptative. but when i choose adaptative or off i get more than 75fps and it suppouse to gime at mas 75hz becasue is a 75hz display. what i am missing..?

thanks.!!

Limit your fps to 74. Done.

Yea you have to use the frame limiter set at 74hz. You also NEVER want to use vsync, thats the whole point of freesync (and it causes issues in some games).

Try to use CRU and lower your minimum freesync range to at least 37 and you will have LFC activated. Which means you essentially have freesync from 0-75hz

I believe it stands for "Low framerate Compensation". CRU is Custom Resolutiin Utility.

Long story short LFC means freesync will work from 0-75hz and essentially only max refresh rate matters

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/5iux1q/updated_tutorial_on_increasing_and_decreasing/

Heres a guide, leave max freesync range at 75, try to get the minimum range at least 37 or lower
