i5 4690k - MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Overclock settings

Thread Starter
So I built my first desktop last weekend and I've been doing quite a bit of research into overclocking my cpu. This will be the first time that I've performed an overclock so I'm a little lost in the dark about some things. As of right now I've got it running at 4.2ghz with temps at around 75ยบ after running prime95 for 10-15 minutes. Sure, I could probably push it a bit further, but I'm happy with it where it's at. Tomorrow I'm planning on stress testing it for the majority of the day just to be sure that it's stable, but before I did I thought I would post my current settings to see if someone more savvy than me could tell me if it looks alright.

Thanks in advance!

Those temps are pretty high for 1.22v i think. Are you using the stock cooler? 4.2 ghz is a pretty small overclock, unless you got a really bad chip 4.5 should be easily doable with a decent cooler. I have also heard that prime95 isn't the best stress test to use for haswell chips and will run hotter than it should. Personally, I just use intel xtu.
