New PC - Prime95: FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 7.756809404e+013, expected less than 0.4

Dear all

Last Monday I received my new gaming pc from the Netherlands (I live in Luxembourg) and I tried Prime95 (64bit) Blend test (with the default 8 workers), to see if everything was stable.
However after 2 hours one of the workers stopped with the following message: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 7.756809404e+013, expected less than 0.4"

The other 7 workers went on for another 10 hours when I stopped them myself.

Anyone knows what the issue might be?

My specs:
Intel Skylake 6700k @stock 4GHZ
Mugen-4 PCGH tower cooler (with 2x120 fan)
Corsair DDR4 LPX 2666 16GB (4x4GB)
Msi Z170A gaming M5
Msi GTX 980 ti Gaming 6G
Samsung 850 Pro 256
Case: Fractal Define R5 with 3 intake (2x front and 1 bottom) and 1 outtake fans (back)
Windows 10 PRO 64bit

Nothing is overclocked.

Thanks a million!!

Last time I had a problem where one of the workers stopped after 30 mins in prime95 was caused by RAM timings, try without an XMP profile and test again. In my case it was a faulty stick of RAM and I had to replace it. But even tho with the bad stick I wasn't getting an error when I had my BIOS at default (no XMP).

If it's a pure stock system, I'd check the memory configuration first. This is doubly true with pre-binned memory using XMP profiles.

Many thanks for the answers so far.

I runned another 14 hour Prime95 session. This time with the front door of the Define R5 case open. No errors at all! How is this possible? Was there just a small error with the test or with another software interfering? Or wasn't there enough air in the case? The R5 has small intake holes on the sides of the door which I assumed was enough although this might not have been the case for the 2x140mm fromt fans (in addition to the one in the bottom) during the stress test.

Might it be a good idea to run 2 more tests? I was thinking of running one this evening for 24 hours and one mode the 24 hours after. If there are no errors in the other 2 tests either, does this mean all is ok?

Are there other tests to. Verify?

Many thanks again

Unlikely, but maybe it was overheating. If you're not monitoring the temp, consider Realtemp (if you want something simple) or HWiNFO to check them out.

I'd verify the RAM is configured correctly in the BIOS and then run HCI Memtest.

Thanks for your reply

So if I would run 2 more tests and both would be fine there can still be an error because one of the 4 tests gave an error or would this mean all is fine?

In regards to Memtest, how do I run this one. I have an MSI 170a bios (dont know if its uefi). Is it just creating and usb with the image and running it in default settings from there? I Read on their site if its an Uefi I need to somehow allow things to start up from an USB. Wasn't quite clear for me.

If you repeatedly pass the stress tests, it's unlikely there's an issue, but because memory instability can rapidly cause OS corruption, I'd definitely check it

I've never run it, only Memtest86+ (which is supposedly not as good). Where are you seeing stuff about usb images, etc? From what I'm reading: "MemTest is a RAM tester that runs under Windows" and "To install just unzip into a folder of your choice."

Ah great! Thanks a lot. Will let you know the results. So Memtest is better than Memtest86+?

In the "Ram to be tested" I give 16GB? And how long is the test?
