You're welcome.

So I've read, yes. I've also had RAM instability where P95 would throw rounding errors, yet Memtest86+ would pass every time (even after ~12hrs of testing), so I wouldn't recommend it. I'd run HCI Memtest overnight.

EDIT: Yep, 16gb. thumb.gif

Ok one more question, I read You should have 1 instance for each core. With my 6700k should I run 4 instances of HCI at the same time and divide the memory? Or 8 since I have 8 threats?
I would like to keep t easy but thoroughly to make sure everthig is tested. It also mentioned HCI cannot use all memory since Windows is also using its part, therefore by default HCI will only allocate a part of the 16 GB which you shouldnt up. Or did I read this wrongly? I do not have mich knowledge with those programs so am not sure frown.gif

I'm no expert on that program, but according to the manual, running 1 instance per core would be ideal, so I'd do 4. I'd keep a couple gigs for the OS to use, so you'd be testing 14gb or 3.5gb per program.

Almost done with HCI memtest. Found out that if I used 8 x the program for my 8 threats I also maxed out the CPU. So far no issues found (380% done). Will stop at 500% (has then runned for over 4 hours totally).

After this I will run Prime for another 20+ hours, then memtest86+ followed by a last run of Prime.

Should I have nit found any errors by then, would it be safe to say the first time was just either a program error, something else or just a bit of overheating since I did nit open the case front door?

Last 14 hour of Prime run with the door open went fine without issues.

Can't be that if I run it once and 1 of the 8 workers stops after 2 hours with the error message in the title of this forum (and the rest if the workers just continued till I stopped them 10 hours later) and then 3 full 14+ hour instances without issues as well as 5 runs (500%) HCI Memtest and 12 hours (planned time for me to run this) Memtest86+ There was really something wrong.

Or Would this way of thinking be incorrect?

Again I still need to do Memtest86 and 2 Prime runs, but still in case they're without any issues It should say something biggrin.gif

It looks more and more like a 1 time glitch, yes, but it would still be wise to monitor your temps and check your BIOS RAM config.

Some people believe newer CPUs are not as able to cope with P95 stress, causing damage, but a custom blend is great for exposing RAM errors though, so at this point I'd sooner run it for a few hours (say 3min FFTs, all memory except ~2gb reserved for the OS), so less time to put the hurt of the CPU and more apt to expose RAM instability. Just my 2 cents.
