Odds are it will be a Dual Fury (not Dual Fury X, or Dual Fury Nano).

The Fury X is already too limited availability. Doing this will make no sense, as it will only compound problems of availability ... not to mention their impending issues with Asetek.
The whole appeal of the Nano is that it is cherry picked Fury X chips that are supposed to be for low power and small size. This card throws away both of those features.

Putting two cut down chips, aka the Fury, on it makes perfect sense. It uses up the available failed Fury X chips that are cut down, and it will be powerful ... more powerful than a Fury X ... single card, even though it's a dual GPU. The 375 watt limit isn't a problem to explain. They will basically just use a lower power profile for the Fury chips like they did with the Nano on the Fury X.

If I'm right, it will be gimped compared to two Fury's, but it will be available.
If I'm wrong, and it is indeed going to be using two Fury's, it too will be gimped compared to two Fury X's ... not to mention rarer than hens teeth.
If I'm wrong, and it is indeed going to be using two Fury Nano's, then it will be available, it will be just as fast as buying two Nano's, but it will no longer have the power or size advantage that AMD supports are raving (but not buying apparently) about the Nano.

So going by the odds, I'll say it's most likely 2 Fury's. Next most likely is 2 Nano's. Least likely it is 2 Fury X's. So going on that, this card will be a huge "who cares", because unlike the R9 295X2 ... it will NOT be two of the top end cards on one board ... not with a 375 watt max power draw.

As far as the dual GPU nVidia card ... I think that most likely it will be a dual 980Ti. If not, the next most likely thing will be a dual 980 card. I seriously doubt it will be a dual Titan X card. Odds are it will have 3 8-pin connectors, and totally kick the snot out of the Fury X2.

The thing is that there have always been a Geforce quivalent of a Tesla card launched.
Tesla M60 was their latest. It launched in late August

Thats a dual GM204

The Titan Z was an odd ball.

The GTX 690 was the dual GK104's, which is basically 2 GTX 680's with a slightly lower core speed.

The Titan Z was dual GK110's. which is basically 2 Titan Blacks (some would argue it is two 780Ti's, but not me).

The Titan Z was an utter failure. The GTX 690 wasn't. That is why the more I think about it, it will be based on the GTX 980 ... and honestly, I *REALLY* think that it will be basically a dual 980 Notebook card .... GM204 with a core of 2048:128:64 x2, a base clock of about 1000Mhz, a boost clock around 1200MHz, a 256 bit buss with either 4 or 8 gigs for each GPU (8 or 16GB of GDDR5 ... most likely 8 total).

Going with that chip, would give you like 95-97% of a GTX 980 card, and putting two of them on a card would be easier and require less power.

Oooo this is going to be interesting!

I just bought 980 Ti's a few days ago, so hopefully it is not a fully unlocked 6 GB part. If it is, I hope we find out in the next three weeks.

GTX 990 makes sense. The only reason Titan Z failed so hard was because they tried to charge $3000 for it. lachen.giflachen.gifdoh.gif

I have to say that I'm intrigued by it if its a Dual 980 Ti in that 1100-1200 range... Sure it is going to cannibalize the Titan X sales, but then again so is the 980 ti for all intents and purposes. I would seriously consider giving up my 2 Titan X for 2 990s if that was to happen.

I dont think that GM204 makes much sense unless they are going to double up the Vram to 8GB a core. Sure its a much cheaper options but then they are going to want to put it in that 999$ price bracket and to me, I'd still take my Titan X. We'll see how this all shakes out though!
