But yeah, probably wishful thinking and it will expensive after all.
Would be awesome with a water cooled dual GM200.

When was the last time that happened. If anything it's $1300 min but considering the power delivery i would not surprised if more. Look at what happened to GTX590. Personally i never get exited for Dual GPUs. They used to be cheaper then getting 2 of the same GPU and it made sense for many people to buy them and add a water block while costing the same. Now you have to spend more..

Probably this entry is the dual GM200. 7 samples was shipped 2 weeks ago
And then someone was saying that those are Pascal GPU's and Pascal is coming Q1 2016...
Anyway, starting price will be MINIMUM 1500$, if its 2x980 Ti. If its Titan, you better sell your kidneys to get one, as it will cost most probably 2400$+. Also, it was about time for nVidia to respond to the 295x2, which for 1,5 year has been holding the tittle for fastest dual GPU in the world.
There was in 2011 April the 6990, which was for 1 year the faster dual GPU.Then in April 2012 came the 690, which only beat the 6990 with around 10% for a bit higher price. AMD missed a year with release of dual GPU, in 2013 March they came with 7990, for the same price as 690 it was beating it with 10%. Then year later, in April 2014 came the 295x2, which totally destroys all previous, however for a lot bigger price. And now we will be getting a new card that will trump the previous for minimum the same release date price, while the last record holder is being sold for 800$ and less for new, and 600-650$ for used.

Meh. Nobody was expecting more then $700. $650 is right in line. $700 if it had full Cores just like 780 Ti.

You have the fact that the R9 295X2 isn't commercially available anymore (probably to get people to buy the Fury X instead) and that GM204 in SLI will use quite a bit less power. Yeah I know the savings on electricity is trivial but a dual GM204 card could use an air cooler like the 690 or the Titan Z but the 295X2 had to use a water cooling loop or use a massive air cooler.

Anyway, this is going to be tough to pull off. NVIDIA is going to have to fit two 600mm2 dies onto a PCB that's at max 13 inches along. Then, you have to fit twenty four memory modules and the massive VRM that these cards would require. Then you must have an adequate vapor chamber air cooler like the Titan Z which took up three(!!) slots or use a system sort of like the 295X2, but I doubt it because NVIDIA has never went with a water cooling setup as a reference design.

295X2 where going for like $6XX. Hard to get away with GM204 especially with DX12.

Meh. Nobody was expecting more then $700. $650 is right in line. $700 if it had full Cores just like 780 Ti.
That's what I was thinking. Once upon a time flagships were $500. I understand inflation happens. I understand some hardware can be more expensive, they're packing more in too. Things change. Unfortunately what ACTUALLY changed was not so much that stuff, but Nvidia's profit margins! Greeeeeeed!
