The Titan Z was an utter failure. The GTX 690 wasn't. That is why the more I think about it, it will be based on the GTX 980 ... and honestly, I *REALLY* think that it will be basically a dual 980 Notebook card .... GM204 with a core of 2048:128:64 x2, a base clock of about 1000Mhz, a boost clock around 1200MHz, a 256 bit buss with either 4 or 8 gigs for each GPU (8 or 16GB of GDDR5 ... most likely 8 total).

Going with that chip, would give you like 95-97% of a GTX 980 card, and putting two of them on a card would be easier and require less power.

Honestly the 690 would have had more staying power if it would have more vram. 1.5 wasn't enough but the card itself had a lot of processing power

Titan Z had FP64 compute capabilities and was a cheap option for professional users even with the price tag it had vs a Quadro card for $5000+. Thats why it was priced like that.
Dual GM200 doesnt have the compute performance due to a lot less FP64 cores, so Nvidia can`t price the dual GM200 as high.

Speaking about dual GM200, where the heck is it? Almost a month now since wccftech said it would come "soon, very soon" rolleyes.gif

Probably not, what CPU are you planning on using? If it's a recent Intel turning off overclocking and HT would probably still be a stupid attempt.

Darn it, that's what I was afraid of. I'd be putting this GPU in my sig rig which has a 4770k.

I would not even think about multi-GPUs with a PSU like that but then again I like stability and not worrying about extreme overclocks pushing it further than the PSU can handle.

I would suggest at least an 850W PSU for a dual 980 Ti card.
