The Lightning is a beast and would be my choice, especially at the same price.

I say go for the Lightning if they're the same price...and this is coming from a very happy AMP! Extreme owner. Although one may not overclock better the other on air, the Lightning simply has more tweaking options and will be more fun to play with.

Go for the amp extreme. If you are using it on air there is no reason paying $100 more on the lighting. The performance will be almost negligible on air. LN2 is where the lightning shines(which is what is targeted at)

The Hero has 3-slot spacing between the top 2 slots so you should be fine with AMP! Extreme being a 2.5 slot card.

Oh...you mean the 2nd x1 slot then yes, I think it will be blocked.

p4inkill3r has the correct answer. The Lightning is the better card if they cost the same.
Both cards will give you more than you need on air and the Lightning is where it's at if you ever want to get extreme.
