I'm running a X58 1st generation platform....yes 2008 platform that still relevant.

Long story short....
Extract\copy from HDD to SDD: <15-20secs

Driver Install: <1 min.

Reboot: Heck I don't know, but it didn't take long to get back to the desktop. Maybe 15-20 seconds or less?

at least you did not reformat. i do use ssd. just that in a mac book pro.

this just proves that driver install bsods may not be driver related afterall.

Usually takes me about 20 minutes to swap drivers:

1. Express uninstall all AMD software, reboot.
2. Use DDU or manually remove driver remnants, reboot.
3. Manually remove all device entries in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" so I ensure I get the same entries upon reinstall of the driver.
4. Run the driver installer, use custom option, reboot.
5. Disable CFX, manually disable all HDMI audio devices in sound option, and manually disable ULPS in the registry, reboot.
6. Enable CFX, manually remove non-present display entries from device manager, use CRU to edit monitor refresh rate to 60Hz rather than 59.95 (helps with synchronization while recording/streaming video with vsync enabled), manually change the broken 1600,1200 resolution EDID entry in the registry to 2560,1440 so the new default timing mode actually works correctly (this is highly specific to my actual display and BenQ's driver), reboot again.
7. Use system.

Most GPU driver BSODs have nothing to do with the driver.

5 minutes tops for me including reboots... I just install over the old though, haven't had an issue in forever.

The 15.9.1 update is working good so far. The memory leak is gone. I did however noticed an issue where initially my 290 x only went up to 500 Mhz on the Core. Didn't know where the performance loss was coming from, but caught it and fixed it in MSI Afterburner.

I did not however check Project Cars which was having issues with Detailed Grass turned on for the past couple of BETAs.

15.9.1 working great on a R9 280x, 7950, 6950, and A10-7850k.

Did I mention I didnt bother to uninstall anything before installing the driver? If the driver cant install itself properly its junk.

Even the mods here on these forums don't recommend uninstalling previous drivers and installing new ones over old ones. I've been doing that for the past 10 years, long before it became official common practice and yet to see a problem arise.

Does anyone have a graphic corruption in GTA V with AMD vcards? It looks like artifacts, like textures of some models flickering in the air in sharp pointed shapes. I'm using a Radeon R7 265. I tested my videocard in other games and works alright for everything else but GTA V. These artifacts are random tho and not all the time and I can't find a driver version that removes them x.x I went back to the version 15.7.

Will give a try to these new drivers, maybe they have the fix.

tends to be unstable gpu/vram overclock causing that kind of artifacting.

its not unheard of to be caused by drivers of course, but generally clock speed/voltage/heat causing it.

No issues here. Is your card overclocked at all - sounds like it from the description.
