Hello there , already long time lurker and got help with so many topics here and i need your help now.im using i5 2500k now and dropping new pc bomb atm.İ m struggling between i7 5820k vs İ7-6700k . İ am already partnered streamer so i can reach 3500 kbps.

My goal is achieving 1080p - 30 fps - 3500kbps video - "fast or lower" cpu preset.(wanna squeeze all CPU power)

İ mainly play Kerbal Space Program , Dark Souls 2 , Total War series , War thunder so on... .My point is i mostly play low paced games but being able to stream H1Z1 with these settings are also a bonus.Any games can get in this list

Now i am really struggling between 5820k vs 6700k . The difference will cost me 200 $ - 220 $ i will OC both CPU's like hell and im gonna spend lots of money on my new setup.İ am planning to use it +4 years at least and dont wanna look back.

All opinions are too important to me

My 2 PC setups :

i7 6700k : https://pcpartpicker.com/user/henezini/saved/#view=bP7bt6

i7 5820k : https://pcpartpicker.com/user/henezini/saved/#view=K9Rtt6

I see a difference of like $40....

Get the 5820k, it's the obvious choice. 95% of single core speed, but 150% more cores. you do the math.

If you want to save some money, drop to a smaller psu if you only plan to have a single card. I've ran 5820k and sli 970s all oc'ed on 750w.

Which games benefit from more cores? Will DirectX 12 games benefit from more cores?

Probably me, I've said it several times on OCN.

Some games benefit like battlefield. As far as dx12, can't say for sure until we see it all.

Main thing is OP wants to stream as well as last a long time. 5820k is the better choice for both cases.

IF you stream with the same pc than you game on, the 5820k will be a lot better than the 6700K

Thanks for the reply guys... i will %99 go with 5820k asus x99-a and 2600 Mhz ddr4 ram

i have done some research and if you overclock 5820k to 4.4 - 4.5 it starts to catch 6700k oc...im also considering corsair H110i GTX to whip that CPU

also i changed my graphic card to evga 980 ti classified and kinda dont know if i go down to evga 850w and it can keep up that OC's

consider that i will squeeze CPU and GPU all the way i can

what do you guys think?
