All i see that is close is "Defer upgrades". That however does not give you full control since it still forces security upgrades if this quote from microsoft itself is to be believed.
I can uninstall updates sure but that is still not there same as preventing them from being installed in the first place.
Is there another option i am missing somewhere?
I haven't looked into Windows 10 yet, but there may be something in the security section in control panel. At least on earlier versions, you could cancel all updates, but you probably could try something like making the update service think updates are governed by a [fake] domain.

Haha, I asked this same question and suggested that if people dislike Windows this much that they buy a Mac. One forum member started sending me the craziest pm's afterwards. I think I will stay out of these threads.

So this is pretty much the perfect time for this to happen? Amidst the Windows 10 backlash about forced Windows Updates and privacy, security, etc haha

GG Microsoft

Why would you suggest they buy a Mac? That's trading one prison for another. Maybe you 'd get better results if you suggested Linux. thumb.gif

PS: I can't remember but can you even uninstall updates in Win10 anymore?

I know how to use the group policy editor and power shell.

I am still furious that I have to know how to use the group policy editor and power shell to disable/remove features that should be easily accessible.

Just because I know how to do something the hard way does not excuse the lack of an easy way.

Why would you assume they'd like Mac OS more?

Overall, I hate Windows. That doesn't mean it's not my favorite OS. It just means that OSes are terrible disgusting, unfortunate, necessities to the point where even the best ones are still obnoxious to use.

No OS'es were marketed to be simple to use. If people want it disabled, they have to learn. If they are not smart enough, they probably don't even care if they're tracked. Your argument seems to be in circles.

You don't understand. I shouldn't have to change my oil in my car or try to replace a starter. It should just WORK the way I want it to work inside my head. Anything else is not acceptable.
