With that being said you have to consider not only the voltage, but the temperature. Some feel 1.4V is safe others feel 1.35V or 1.3V, etc. are safe. It's whatever you feel comfortable with, but keep in mind the core temps are key in coming to that decision. Generally speaking if your temps are under control you're probably fine up to 1.4V, but that voltage typically requires water cooling.

Personally for 24/7 usage I don't want to go quite that high, but on my current setup once I go past 4500MHz even 1.4V won't stabilize it. I haven't tried very hard either though so perhaps I could reach 4625MHz some day.

Yea, that makes sense. im on watercooling and so far the highest temp ive seen on my cpu core is 73c. highest average was 68c.

im confident i could go to 4.8 or even 5.0 on 1.4 but i dont want a 80-90c cpu.

got its down to a cool 1.267 volta @ 4.4 Mhz with my highest temp @ 68c =) im going to stick with these settings.

I landed on a 4.4 oc too and its definitely super fast enough for my needs. I thought you might want to knock down the voltage some from where you had it before. Once you get past a point of the curve, power consumption starts going up exponentially as voltage goes up.

That cooler really kicks butt! You mentioned wanting to put gpus on water too. Do you intend to expand the predator loop?

Yea I'm happy with what I have now. But I am very curious to see what I can get with all the RIGHT voltages tweaked and 1.35 to 1.4 v overclock. What the highest you think I can go? 5.0? 5.1? Who knows I think I got a very good chip . Also my graphics card is kicking ass right now in process of overclocking. Im at 1515mhz @ 8000mhz mem. With only .063v overclock. This is getting run lol

The EK predator is a beast. I mean this things is cooking the inside of my case practically lol. Quite too. And yes DEF getting water blocked loop. Probably going to change my water block for the cpu too smile.gif

Your going to love it ... I'll post bios pics and show you guys my settings. I'm very happy with my voltage and temps. Now if I can figure out how to get it to 4.5 or 4.7 at this voltage that'd be nice

I see you changed the BLCK to 100 though. What's the RAM running at now?

I'm don't know much about overclocking RAM yet. I'm using the timings from XMP, which for 3000MHz I believe sets BCLK to 125MHz. That's why I was asking. Does CPU-Z still show your RAM at 1500MHz? That would be 3000MHz DDR.

no it doesnt. wow thanks for bringing that to my attention, i just noticed my ram is @ 1200mhz not 1500... im going to change the BCLK back to 125 and the multiplier @ 35 which wail give me about 4.38mhz

so now im running @2400mhz on the ram. which is stupid because i paid a premium for my 3000 ram

thanks again for bringing that to my attenion .....
