Good job missing the entire point of the post.

Missing the point seems to be working both ways. How is this "restructuring" (how many times now?) going to be any different than the previous shake ups? They've been bleeding cash for what seems like forever, it's time for them to stop patting themselves on the back for past success and find a way to get past their current troubles.

You are right about nvidia. As someone who recently bought 2 980 Ti, I feel like I've been betrayed. Any driver past 353.06 simply does NOT WORK. The driver constantly times out in any game and yet there is almost nothing said about this. I've been team green for 10 years and I've never seen the drivers this bad. This behavior happens in Windows 7/8 and 10.

They've been bad for me ever since GTX 980, constant crashing W7, 8.1 and 10. mad.gif

Who is going to do work if they have to pay to do it rather than get paid... !!!

I guess you missed the part where her total compensation package is $7.3 MILLION a year. She can keep her $850,000 a year salary, just make her total compensation package worth "only" $6.3 million.

Yes.

Site after site has commented on them. Most recently, the Crossfire comparison on OCP. Only people who have turned a blind eye to anything negative that AMD does won't acknowledge it.

AMD Drivers

We want to see AMD succeed with its discrete gaming GPUs. Life without AMD will just mean a more expensive video cards and lack of innovation. We need the competition. One thing AMD has always done well is the hardware end of GPUs. What has been lacking, and seems to continue to bite AMD in the butt today is it lacking software support, especially in the multi-GPU arena.

There is potential in the performance of AMD Radeon R9 Fury CrossFire. We feel it can beat GeForce GTX 980 SLI by a wide margin at 4K if just the software side of things could give it what it needs. It is that support of CrossFire not functioning in some games and not providing a smooth and efficient experience in others that is holding back the hardware once again.

AMD needs to up its game on AMD CrossFire support in games. AMD goes a very long time without WHQL drivers, relying on Beta drivers for sometimes longer than half a year. This needs to stop. Honestly, we need monthly driver updates to come back. Apparently AMD's highest end GPU customers are not a priority.

AMD CrossFire Issues

This is really the saddening part of the whole ordeal, how many issues we encountered with AMD CrossFire versus NVIDIA SLI. We had no issues at all with NVIDIA SLI in these six games, no stutter, everything worked and it was a smooth gaming experience. With AMD CrossFire we had issues in 3 out of 6 games played.

We strongly feel that ASUS STRIX Radeon R9 Fury DC3 CrossFire has the potential to offer better performance than GeForce GTX 980 SLI. The issue lies in software support for AMD CrossFire versus NVIDIA SLI. In one of the games we tested AMD CrossFire doesn't even work at all, in two others there was extreme stuttering and odd framerate behavior. This is half of our game suite that exhibited an issue with AMD CrossFire.

Therein lies the main issue, there is a distinct discrepancy between AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI in today's games. It is an issue of software support, and efficient use of the hardware feature through software in games. AMD has more problems with this than NVIDIA does. NVIDIA is on the ball at each new game release releasing "Game Ready" GeForce drivers with SLI profiles, AMD, isn't.

Instead, AMD releases drivers in a random fashion typically many weeks or months apart, with WHQL certified drivers lingering even longer. In order to provide proper AMD CrossFire support in games drivers need to be released more frequently with AMD CrossFire support at game launch. It needs to work, and it needs to work smoothly.

This is the main point of contention between AMD CrossFire and NVIDIA SLI. When AMD CrossFire is working well ASUS STRIX Radeon R9 Fury DC3 CrossFire video cards have the performance to beat GeForce GTX 980 SLI, but that's the catch, it has to be working well, and that isn't always so.

We want AMD CrossFire to succeed. Having a year old game like Farcry 4 not even support CrossFire by now is just not acceptable from a hardware owners perspective. AMD must push out new drivers with AMD CrossFire support for new games as frequently as NVIDIA does, otherwise it is always going to play catch-up. Catch-up is not good for people dealing out over $1100 for a GPU gaming solution.

That has been the plan since 2012 and should begin to happen in a full year from now. Either that or cash infusion. Longsoon or whomever.

Sorry I overlooked your post but it wasn't in the article so I'm sorry...
Compensation packages are a bad thing compensation for what?!
I mean really a person with a Dr. title probably would make 80k net her a year so about double that in the US. Why is she getting .85 million + 6.5 million in extras.
I get that bonuesses are the only way to circumvent the maximum wage but these are just stupid big numbers
post #57 of 64
While I totally understand the idea of performance based incentives... AMD hasn't hit any goals worthy of a bonus in years.... "Well Lisa we predicted we would lose 1 million dollars this month, but we only lost 800k, so boom you get a 4 million dollar bonus!

By the way, it was 11 million not 7. And yes she makes more money they the CEO of intel.

I would say the above post is ironic but knowing that the only thing driving Lisa to be AMD's CEO is money, I will /stuck thumb.gif
