Here is my cons for the MSI.

18.4 inch great if you don't already have external montior. (Other wise huge dead weight.)
CPU is outdate. (Not by much but a internal mech keyboard is not worth rocking pre out date hardware).
Mobo is outdate. (Not by much but a internal mech keyboard is not worth rocking pre out date hardware).
Memory is outdate. (Not by much but a internal mech keyboard is not worth rocking pre out date hardware).
Network is outdate (Not by much but a internal mech keyboard is not worth rocking pre out date hardware).
Weighing in at 10lbs.

SLI is actually not fun. Drivers can still play a huge discomfort here.

That is all true and some of what I am dealing with in both my desktop and laptop.

Edit: I would have to say the sager is the better option for me. Just need to figure out what OS I would run. I want to move away from windows and I don't do a lot of gaming other than EVE online. I would like to pike up some other games but right now I am more into performance hardware lol.

My CPU is from 2011 and still no bottlenecks here
My motherboard can use 1866Mhz, im sure the MSi is also capable of such
Network? Really? That can be changed, and not many consumers will see a use for faster than N Speeds if your not on Ethernet

Only 1 game didnt have an SLI profile when I had my y510p and I cant even remember what that was anymore out of the 200+ titles in my steam library. Of which a less than 5 minute google search found a profile someone made for it, which was really just an altered profile from some other title. In any case not all are SLI'ed out of the box, you DO have the option to get a single GPU configuration.

10Ibs, you should know this before considering this laptop...

If you simply dont like the laptop thats one thing, but come up with some real authentic reasons for not liking it in the first place. Otherwise your message spreads more subjectivity than objectivity that other onlookers will look at as the latter.

All my stance's are from viewpoint of going from haswell to skylake.

Performance difference its minimal.

Yes of course the cpu.mobo.ram and much more is just fine for performance/gaming.

But why buy haswell when you can buy skylake for less???

What I am getting is haswell is the old bus of DDR3 / M2 And skylake is DDR4/ M2.

Of course most be aware of the weight but sometimes people ignore it front or until they lift the machine.

Also No one has to come up with a real authentic reason to dislike anything. Soda vs pop. water fountain vs bubbler. coke vs pepsi.

I enjoy that msi is thinking of the mech keyboard from the get go. And I love the 18.4

My first was clevo x8100 with SLI 285M (This where I'm bias as I had a lot driver issue's with SLI)

Also onlookers of OCN will have the common sense to make their own decisions.

wrong. This isnt food, this is actual objective analysis of a product.

That may be so, however your making out to be as though just because its no longer in production, its no longer relevant to play games on. Like mentioned before I still game just fine on a now 80 USD i7 2670qm even on COH2. BF4 still no issue there as well.

Better RAM will help with improving minimum FPS on high CPU overhead scenarios, thats about it.

Like mentioned before, y510p SLI, a lot more recent than your experience with the 285m. 6 generations apart actually.

onlookers =/= members

Onlookers are people google searching, members are here via sub-forum feed

So no, they are not OCNers, they may not be well versed in what is in this subject matter. In fact OCNers are bad anyways with laptops so I dont know why you would think otherwise

It's just a laptop at the end of the day.

And people will get what they will fit the bill.

We aren't here to the almighty or subject matter experts.

Great that your hardware fits your needs. My hardware fits my needs. their hardware based on their decision making may fit their needs.

And now lookers / Ocners. Will look onward.

Great sites by the way.

I guess this is where you give up using actual facts, done with this thread anyways. OP has his answer now, you want to debate the philosophy of DDR3 vs DDR4 or how bad SLI was 6 generations ago, let me know. Ill make a thread for you.

Oh hey its the web forum that bans users that doesnt agree with its recommendations

I trust NBR about as much as...actually cant even say that much anymore.

Tech | Inferno is where you want to go, better reviews anyways.

I love to play the newest and greatest games in super high quality so I don't think my desktop will be replaced any time soon but I do love my laptop as I can game on the go.

My posting is always to 1080p.)

oh? i thought were we talking about laptop only.

computers fits into the big 'C' in my book.

computers, cars, clothes. don't waste your money. None of them are an investment. none of them last. they always make new, they always make better. buying a new BMW for $40k will never be sold for $50K. same goes with computers and clothes. if you play your cards right you can win with vehicles. I bought a pair of new F550's for $60k instead of ONE fully loaded F150. it ramped up my buisiness, paid them both off in 2 years, which now i moved into flipping houses, using those same 2 trucks to move material! As new as they are, i still dropped full coverage. 3 year old trucks with just PL insurance, $15/month. Do i care about damages? Nope. it's a vehicle. they make new ones every day.

Back to computres, Now I buy $150 laptops for research/testing/learning. if the battery smokes, buy another $150 laptop instead of a $100 battery. For my desktop? A raspberry pi with the quad core, 1Gb ram. plenty to email and surf the web/youtube in 1080. $40 and 20 watts. No, it's not pretty like windows 8, 9, 10, 382,38205, 2384205 and whatever version is next. runs a modified debian thats blah looking.

long story short, stop spending time and money on video games, it got me no where. ditch the juice eating desktop, step it down, buy used laptops, and enjoy a nice savings for the kids some day.

that's my opinion. probably offensive, but it's the honest truth of life.

Your opinion is surely a valid one. I completely get where you're coming from. It is just odd to read this opinion from a member of a PC enthusiast forum.
