I really like your ideas, what is electrical contact cleaner and who would sell it?
Where can I order other microswitches if I need to replace it?
I'm glad you found my post helpful.
Electrical contact cleaner is (usually) a quick drying liquid that is designed to dissolve gunk and minor corrosion off of electrical contacts. It often has a bit of lubricant in it as well, to help protect the contacts in the future. You can find it at Radio Shack, some auto shops, music shops, some hardware stores, and of course online. DeOxitD5 is my personal recommendation for a general use contact cleaner that you can use in basically any scenario.
You should be able to find microswitches on Ebay. There are several other places you can find them as well, but you will usually have to buy them in bulk to match the Ebay price, so since you are just looking for one or two, I'd start there.
