I could say go with the Sandy Bridge. 5.0ghz SB ~ 4.5ghz Haswell. No need to upgrade though, if you already got it.

E: Checked again, so you have em both already? What are you going to do that another thing if one set goes to your son?

If you are a hardcore gamer go with the 4690K but the 4690K would be a memorable gift for the boy wink.gif

Tough decision, but I hope that GTX 980 for yourself will make giving the boy the 4690K easier wink.gif

While CoD favors single thread, it's not like an i7 Sandy will even remotely struggle with any of them. GTA V does take proper advantage of the extra threads.

Thanks, i'll just keep the sandy in that case.. GTA V is an excellent game, and if that's making use of the extra threads, then i may as well just keep it.
