Hello all thumbsupsmiley.png
I will be buying fujipoly for my Asus Ares 3 but just for VRMs.
Can anyone experienced enough tell me which ones exaclty are VRMs pls ??
(they say its using 16-phase)

Here is the pic of the card and I marked what exactly was cooled by thermal pads. I just need to know which ones are VRM1 and 2 for both cores pls. Mark them for me pls.

Ok i am just looking at the logic and layout of the capacitors and caps etc and have come up with this. I tihnk it will be pretty close to accurate, in fact cant see how its not right tongue.gif

Red : 6 phase power to each core. I do not know which bank is to which core though
Yellow : 4 phase additional power. Either +2 to each core or +4 shared between the 2 cores.
Blue : I am not sure but there are no capacitors feeding these from what i can gather so they might be a different power feed. (The bridge controller or something like that)

Hope that helps thumb.gif

Double check the stock block and see which areas have a pad as well. Vrm's typically have a thick pad over them in most applications.

That's exaclty what I marked here:

Btw, the plx chip is another area that might help to lower temps as these guys are known to throw some good heat. Which tim are you running on the cores?

cores + plx = thermal grizzly kryonaur smile.gif

Hmmmmm thinking.gif for sure the plx uses pad in the reference...does the a3 use tim then(?)

Good question. Possibly as there is a bit more overhead being 2 fully fledged 290X's and therefore requires the better conductivity/contact of a TIM solution rather than a pad.

no smile.gif
There has been misunderstanding probably.
I marked all the stuff(red colour) that has a pad on itself.
The rest 3 components being cooled by the waterblock are, plx, gpu1 and 2. All 3 having paste. The rest(red) is pads.thumb.gif
