Gigabyte X99 Gaming 7 - Max Ram Frequency

Thread Starter
hello guys, as a title i would know an information about the max memory soeed that this board can reach.

I saw on the gigabyte site that can be clocked to 2800mhz max ( in xmp i think) but sounds very strange to me ( this is a board for 350/370 eur, while asrock with the extreme6 about 220 eur, can reach 3333. WUT? )

can you explain me BETTER? cause i bought a dominator pro kit at 3000mhz and dont wanna waste my money.

Thank you all !

In your BIOS you can set the memory speed (and timings) to pretty much anything you want to. All that happens if you set it to high is that the computer won't boot, or, in the worst case, data gets corrupted.

Be forewarned though, if you're not familiar with memory overclocking back up everything before you start playing around.
