What happened to the full-size enter key ?

Hey

I am lookin for a new mech keyboard, but the ones i have been lookin for have no full size enter key ? Instead they have a tiny one with some other useless key.
The ones I have been lookin for are mainly quickfire XTi and corsair K70 RGB, I really dont see why they would ditch the full-size enter key as it is so important to have.
And not buying 2 lovely keyboards just because they didnt bother to add a regular size enter key is just sad.

Which enter key are you looking for, the ISO one or the very big enter key?
http://deskthority.net/wiki/Return_key

The Corsair and Quickfire XTI are available with the ISO enter. Not a lot of modern keyboards are available with the very big enter key though. Steelseries 6Gv2 and Ducky Zero DK2108L are the only two modern keyboards with the big enter key that i can think of.

What i dislike is the "ANSI enter and 2 u backspace" its terrible, i dont see the point in it.
I just want the enter to be bigger then everything else around it, so its nice to find it just by feel.

Ah i understand, ISO boards come with a 2u backspace. It will be very hard to find a modern keyboard with the very big enter and 1u backspace.

If the ISO enter is acceptable for you the Corsair K70 and Quickfire XTi can be found in ISO layout without much hassle, but remember the left shift key is 1u on ISO boards.

If you must have the very big enter key with a 1u backspace i would try emailing Ducky and ask them if they have anymore Ducky Zero DK2108LS boards available still.

Thats the Corsair K70 with ISO layout, if that layout is acceptable for you then ISO would be the easiest choice to obtain larger enter key.

The so-called "big-ass enter key" is still around and not all that rare, but you don't hear about keyboards with it as much because of the focus of the enthusiast community on keycap customization (which a big enter makes harder) and layout standardization in general.

Do you have any other preferences? It would be easier to narrow things down with more to go on than the size of enter key. In the meantime, here are some pics to reassure you that what you want can still be found:

Well, I would love it to be full size meaning with a numpad yet as sleak and minimalistic as possible (coolermaster XT & ducky are really lovely and clean) , HUGEASS enter key would be so lovely but perhaps it would be the best idea to get used to the small one as that's what seems to be the norm these days. Or maybe I have to get used to tenkeyless ones (since many of those still seem to come with the full size enter key). I had a quickfire rapid without the numpad and that was the reason I sold it, i love my numpad, the ones I have looked at so far are:

Ducky shine 5 - ( but small enter and not available yet)
CM Quickfire XTi - (small enter & not available yet, here where I am)
Corsair K70 RGB - (small enter and RGB doesnt really work as it should)

So its a tough call & evenmoreso if you fancy RGB.

So you want a big Enter ISO k-board something like this.

I have some ISO/Nordic Ducky Shine 3 and one ISO/UK Ducky Shine 3 k-boards, I hope you are not gonna change the keycaps.

It is a hell to find good lookin ISO (Nordic keycaps sets are a bloody hell to find) keycaps sets.

I have my pre-ordered ANSI Ducky RGB YOTG Cherry MX Black k-board in Copenhagen right now, so I will get the k-board in this week.

We have 2 shops that sells ISO/Nordic keycaps here in sweden.

Thanks again, ill go check out the stores you linked, but lets say id stay with to the ansi (small) enter wich rgb keyboard would you reccomend? The type of switch aint too important reds and browns are both ok, though i think if they are priced similarly id go for the browns. I am in northern europe aswell, the ones i was drooling over we're the XTi, shine 5, AZIO MGK 1 RGB looked nice too, but id like to spend as little as possible for a quality keyboard, cant really stomach those plasticy razers and whatnot. And the selection really doesnt seem to be the best in this part of the world (or maybe i just dont know where to look)

You're welcome

The 2 swedish stores only ships in sweden, this 2 links was to show the keycaps sets we have here in sweden.

I'm a Ducky fan, so go for Shine 5.

I like the Shine 2/3 k-boards better than Shine 4 even if I have 2 ANSI Shine 4.

My Ducky Shine 4 69 Edition Fire Version with a Galaxy Class keycaps set. The spacebar is Duckys.
Number 0165 of 2000 made ( I think it is) boards.

With Duckys keycaps.

My Ducky Shine 4 SCE with Cherry MX Brown/Clears on the same board.
