There is no best gaming mouse per se, and it's mostly based on what would be comfortable for you to use. Also, the most important factor for me personally is the sensor. So, the G502 is an excellent mouse both quality-wise and sensor. However, and this is based on my preference, I think it's too heavy and that's why I don't use it anymore.

What kind of grip do you have?

Sadly no best gaming mouse yet, if Zowie sort out their button click latency (improved but not gone in newer lines), and can improve coatings and mouse wheel (I don't know yet if it's sorted until I get my ec1-a and try for myself) then it's an all round win.

Best performance wise (no particular order):

Zowie FK1
Zowie EC1-A/EC2-A
Zowie ZA11/ZA12/ZA13
Roccat Kone Pure Military
Steelseries Kana v2
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and WMO 1.1
Logitech g400 and g400s
Deathadder 3.5G and 4G.

Maybe more, those are the ones that stand out to me.

Also rumoured to be as good as the others:

Finalmouse 2015
Ninox Aurora

Haven't seen enough stats or details in reviews for these so I reserve judgement a little, but they seem to be doing good in terms of sensor performance.

From that list you can pretty much choose which grip suits you, which features you like, which cable, weight etc.

Subjective. Sort by comfort then sensor.

If you think that shape/weight would be good for you, go ahead.

G502/G303 are pretty much the best mice atm, provided you like the shape/weight.

Well it looks you'll be fine with a g502 in terms of sensor performance anyway. According to this document you'll only get jitter at 2000dpi or higher. If you use a claw grip, it looks like a good choice.

actually that document is outdated/inaccurate in many ways.
for 303/502, i can't see any jitter at 3200dpi...

depends on the surface @ jitter

I would still say that the g502 is the best if you outright want a heavy mouse. If you want a light mouse you have to pick your compromise.
