Do I need a better PSU?

I bought this system about a month and a half ago:

AMD Phenom II x4 840 (Propus)
Asus M4N68T-M-V2
8GB Mushkin DDR3 PC3-10700
Sapphire Radeon 6770 1GB
WD Blue 320GB HDD
450W PSU

I added a 1TB HDD, and a DVD drive to it.

Twice now, when playing games, it's decided to just shut down. No error logs, nothing coming up before it does. Boots right back up when I hit the power button. I've pulled a SMART status from both HDD, all green. Ran OCCT on the CPU, solid and stable. About to do a test on the GPU, but it's been running just fine, this only happens when I'm playing graphic intensive games like BF3.

That depends; what is the brand and the exact model of your 450W PSU? If you don't know or if it's some generic thing, then you should replace it as soon as you possibly can.

Omg yeah, replace it ASAP. Stop overclocking if you're overclocking too, like immediately.

Everything's kept at bone stock. CPU isn't a good overclocker, and I've only got the stock cooler anyways.

As soon as I get another job, I'll get rid of the PSU. Thanks!

I live in Australia. If I buy anything, it means I'm pretty much getting shafted.

I just looked the PSU up, and I'm going to try and get a used one off a friend or something...these apparently have a tendency to light on fire.

Admittedly, I did get the whole rig for $100AUD, so having to get a new PSU isn't too bad, I just wish this had come to light when I was working and had the money for something better.

Just for future reference, avoid PSUs that come with a computer case and avoid PSUs that have a very low price.

Is it safe to assume that you don't even have enough money to get the CX430 which is $85? http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_535&products_id=22422

I got the computer as a complete rig from a 'gaming bar' closing down. As for the money to buy that PSU, I don't even have enough to buy decent groceries at the moment.

Though, I can see why they closed, if what I got was what they considered a 'good' system for gaming with modern games.

Yeah, with that video card, they lied big time. Most people don't know anything about PSUs, including many so-called computer shops, so I'm not surprised by this PSU. It probably came with the case.
