GTA V is not particularly advanced when it comes to graphics. Human models for example are nothing special. Battlefront is the most graphically advanced game now, beating Ryse who held the title since last year.

Obviously. Its graphics are pretty good in general. It has nice urban color palette, well made soft shadows and quality car models, especially for an open world game. It just is inferior to The Witcher 3, let alone games like Dragon Age Inquisition, Crysis 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and of course, Battlefront.

The game will not use more than 8GB of RAM either. If you're using 4x AA at 1440p+ then it will, but that's not the game's fault. The CPU probably won't matter much either. Oh yea I forgot about that! Lets absolutely hope it's DirectX12. I hope Vulcan is added too though so everyone can use it. By having DIrectX 12 can it automatically have DirectX 11? There's no way they'd lock it to Windows 12.

How much work is it to add a new API before launch?

Now that i think about it, battlefront might just have a dx12 option. If you remember bf4, mantle was added as an option months after it was released. Mantle is locked to amd gpus. Battlefront might just be the first EA game to have dx12. If anything, it'll lead the way for bf5 having dx12 support at launch. Why would Andersson mention the new api, if they werent working on it? If there is a decent performance gap between win7 and win10, i can see gamers jump to win10. Hence, the official recommendation.

Eh, seems alright. 8GB of ram is recommended for a gaming PC nowadays anyway, and RAM is so cheap that it shouldn't be hard to add another couple of sticks.

Still won't be buying Battlefront.

Dude, there is a ton that goes into game development these days that wasn't there even 5 years ago. The sheer scale is astoundingly much larger than it used to be. And if you want things that are newer and nicer, and more like real life, then don't complain when something has to give. Because part of the reason this happens is due to consumers themselves.

All these resources and manpower have resulted in Batman Arkham Fail (epic fail), Stutter_Dogs, Battlebugs 4 and heaps of other rubbish that should never have been bought.
