The tech giant demoed its HoloLens technology Tuesday at its big Surface and Lumia hardware announcement event. Microsoftie Dan McCulloch, wearing a hoodie and HoloLens augmented-reality headgear, took up a virtual gauntlet. It appeared around his hand like a cool effect from a sci-fi movie, and the audience cooed in amazement, no doubt flashing back to early "Tron" memories.

I didn't see this posted anywhere. Sorry if this is a repost.

If MS can get even half of this functionality; should be pretty cool. Immediately thought of a Metroid game with this. How cool would that be.

I never even thought of that. I really think augmented reality is the ticket. That's a great idea!

Similar to those Augmented Reality Games & Face Raiders game Nintendo brought out with the 3DS, just with Glasses.

I wonder how much time will pass before we can use Hololens (or something better) with Doom...

From what I've heard from people that have had a chance to try it out is that it's as amazing as it looks with the only downside being the field of view is currently pretty narrow.

.

Love how the robots can work with the environement/sofa.. can you imagine that in a warehouse with custom textures and stuff ? lol

Other It's cool but, let's say you wanna make an fps game, curious how the environement could be displayed .. I'm sure they will work on it and in a couple years we'll be even more amazed !
