It's, easily, one of the best engines ever made, both in terms of graphics and performance (imagine the former if the latter weren't adjusted specifically for consoles and low-end hardware...).
Well that has to do with the fact that the first game you think about (in general) when you hear frostbite engine is battlefield which in general had some really bad launches.

I just want to say I've been playing the beta on an i3-2100, 6gb of ram (and if i looked correctly at the task manager it nevere used more than 4gb) and an old HD5830 all on low details. Well I can't say it looked beautiful but it ran smoothly, perfectly playable. When I tried medium details it crashed.
Anyway who the hell wrote the minimum requirements?

Well, this totally took the wind out of my sails. I was under the impression that this would be the first dice game to go with dx12. Know sure where I read that, but that bit of news had me very excited. It won't have dx12. At least not for launch of the game.

From the looks of the benchmarks, I don't think it needs it thumb.gif I never saw that SW:BF was going to be DX12 but I have read that BF5 could be.

There is an unfinished DX12 render path already!
Create a file named User.cfg into your game folder and add "Render.Dx12Enable 1" without " into the new created User.cfg
Your game will most likely experience heavy artefacts and errors until your driver crashes. Still it proves this line does something to your game.
The line "Render.Dx11Enable" does exist and work in BF4 as well, so no magic used here.

Try increasing the brightness on your monitor.

This guy biggrin.gif

Could you maybe try launching it in windowed mode? Usually when I get the black screen no crash starts it's a display settings error and I have to correct it in windowed mode.

I get this as well most times I start it. Goofing around with alt+tab, windows+d, alt+enter, and ctrl+alt+del eventually gets me back to the desktop, and then I can click into the game no problems. Sometimes also have to power cycle my screen to get it to pick up the signal again.

Thanks, I'll try that out next time I bother to play it. redface.gif
