I just want to say I've been playing the beta on an i3-2100, 6gb of ram (and if i looked correctly at the task manager it nevere used more than 4gb) and an old HD5830 all on low details. Well I can't say it looked beautiful but it ran smoothly, perfectly playable. When I tried medium details it crashed.
Anyway who the hell wrote the minimum requirements?

I'm not aware of many games that stated min are really the min required. Seems like people generally take min as meaning max/1080p/60fps. If they don't get it then the game is crap and unoptimized. I can understand why devs give users a lot of headroom.

Ok, the first thing I'm going to need you to do is plug in the monitor. Yes, the cord attached to the rear of the monitor. It's working now? No? Ok, now, you need to find the power button and press that to turn it on... No, that was the computers power. You're going to want to turn that back on. No, no, it was my fault for not better explaining that.

Frames: 62577 - Time: 623172ms - Avg: 100.417 - Min: 72 - Max: 129

Specs: Stock i7-3770K + 1490MHz/8012MHz GTX 980 Ti with 358.50 drivers.
Settings: 1440p Ultra Preset: Resolution Scale at 100%, Motion Blur at 50%, and FOV at 100.

It's vertical FOV, not horizontal FOV.

The default of 55 vertical is equivelant to 85 horizontal - a value that's a little bit on the low side but probably great if you're sat more than a couple feet from your screen, like for console gamers whom i imagine might not have access to our options menu.

Setting 100 vertical is equivelant to 129 horizontal FOV.

I love high FOV myself but 129 is a little bit on the high side biggrin.gif

calculator here: http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php

I played for a little bit just in singleplayer yesterday - i have a few benchmarks from all max with temporal AA but shadows to minimum.

My system at the time was a 980 at near stock settings (~1410mhz core, 7600 mem - i was having issues crashing at low/transient loads because of gpu boost and need to remake OC profile with a bit higher core clock) and a 6700k at 4.6ghz. Seemed entirely or almost entirely GPU bound in that singleplayer level.

vIeecTx.png

On a 60 second benchmark i got the values: 128 min, 159 avg, 201 max.

anybody messed with the users.cfg yet ?

I tried this command because input feels a little bit smoothed even @ 100-110fps (drop zone map + offline survival )

RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 1

all i got was a 30% hit to my framerate, is this normal ??

FPS hit can be huge when cutting that setting to nearly minimum while the impact is relatively small to leave it up a tiny bit (just talking for render ahead limits or other names for that setting in general)

The input is definately wonky and easily visible at higher framerates. I can work with it since it's consistent - but it feels notably weird and messed up; i came to that conclusion within 2 seconds of my first mouse movement before even setting my sensitivity or reading anything bad about the mouse movement. I just did one swipe and felt "woah high default sens" and "ahh kinda laggy"

Has anyone else had issues getting into walker assault? Every time I've attempted it I end up getting a message that says I was disconnected from the EA servers. I was able to get into the other one fine. I don't really play this game type often so not sure what's considered normal here.

There is Dolby ATMOS for headphones but I think it's a bit different since its only in selected tablets and stuff. But how is that bitstream chosen to go through HDMI and into an ATMOS ready AV? Is there a sound card able to do that?

No soundcard needed, it will come right out of your video card through HDMI. If you are using an AV receiver, soundcards are pretty much pointless IMO.

Running this on a HD5770 1Gb, 6Gb RAM and Phenom X4 @ 3.5ghz, only at 720p but with meduim - high custome settings hovering around 30 FPS so the minimum requirement is clearly utter rubbish.

quite like this game though.

thumb.gif Glad you're able to play it. I would just disable any high settings and change it all to medium to gain even more FPS. High to Medium at 720P is most likely unnoticeable difference in quality.

Good share! (I knew this but still good!)

For 90 Horizontal FOV on a 16:9 monitor, set the slider to 59. Thats' probably the best setting for 16:9 AR. thumb.gif
