And sure if you have a 144hz 1440p monitor then maybe it's not overkill for new games.

But I'm sticking to my advice for him that 1080p at 144hz only needs a regular 980 and he can save himself $200 by not buying overkill.

There. I was wrong about a few little technicalities and I didn't think about this or that situation.

I STILL think Skyrim looks great. It's never been top of the line, but it's still gorgeous. It certainly doesnt look like trash and neither does Fallout 4, which is clearly a pretty big step up from Skyrim.

I enjoy good graphics as much as the next guy, but what Bethesda games lack in visual fidelity they make up for with style and then some.

Everyone would have a lot more fun if they stopped complaining about every game that doesn't look like Crysis 15 and just enjoyed them for what they are.

Yup, I agree with you. I played Skyrim without any mods and I thought it looked pretty nice. Not jaw dropping by any means but it was very pleasing to my eye. To all those that continue to female dog and moan about Fallout 4's graphics, please go back to playing that god awful Witcher 3, Ryse, and Crysis 3.

What are you on? 980Ti can barely maintain 30fps at 4K and can't maintain 60fps at 1440p. It most certainly isn't overkill at anything under 4K.

I'm about to set the internet on fire but yeah........I actually do think Witcher 3 was pretty bad. It was the first time I had to use a Steam Refund. Weird because I really enjoyed the first Witcher.

I still can't play it. It's either SLI, Surround, or both but never get above 50% usage on each card. So i cant get above 40fps
