I decided to order the LG monitor that was discussed in this thread. If I don't like it, I can always send it back, since it's Amazon.

Thank you everyone for your help! + REP to you guys.

So what would you get ... LG or XL2720Z?
Who are you asking?
Both are good monitors.
Both have nice scaling abilities.

The Benq if you want to focus on very adjustable blur reduction (strobing), e.g. if you hated LCDs just because of the sample and hold eye tracking motion blur.

The LG if you want to focus on just 2D image quality without blur reduction (the LG has a blur reduction mode but I have no idea how it looks), and I think it only works at 120hz and I don't think there are any adjustments for it.

Someone did a video of the LG motion 240 mode here, but its' NOT In English and the youtube video is played at 60 FPS which means it's not easy to tell how smooth it is, and I don't think his game is running at 120 FPS either.

would be nice if it were in English.....

I ended up getting the LG.

After reading all the reviews from various different websites it seems that the LG is just by far an all around better monitor. It has the least amount of overshoot and reverse ghosting where as the BenQ suffer from it a bit more.
Also when you combine the fact that the colors are much better on the LG one, I went with the better color/contrast quality to performance ratio. Which LG wins.
Once it comes in, should be here tomorrow, I will post a review of what I think about it, and if I don't like it, I can always send it back and get the BenQ.

The XL2720Z does not have the reverse ghosting problem of the other Z monitors.
There's an undocumented AMA low mode that makes the Benq equal to or better than even the Asus Rog Swift, but it only applies if blur reduction is on.

Here's how the XL2720Z looks with the default AMA high setting with blur reduction enabled (1) set AMA to high with MBR off, (2) set MBR to on afterwards.

Here's how the XL2720Z looks if you enable blur reduction (step 1) first then set AMA to high (step 2) afterwards, and then set contrast to 0 to reduce the normal ghosting (added after setting AMA to low)

Here's a darker image taken with shorter camera exposure (contrast is 10 here though).

Should beat the socks off the LG.

The LG monitor came in this morning, and I have to say, I absolutely love it. The colors are incredible for a TN panel. And Motion 240 is actually a great feature, everything is very clear. I however, DID order the BenQ as well, should be coming in on Monday.
Once that comes in, I'll compare them with each other, probably watch a movie/play games, basic use for 2-3 hours on each monitor and figure out which one I'm sending back and which one I'm keeping.

Cyberwolf, do you have a camera that can take a "Pursuit camera" picture?
I'm curious as to how motion 240 looks with strobe crosstalk and ghosting.

You would need a camera that can capture at at least 60 FPS, and then 'hand track" the moving image with the camera lens, so on the camera itself, it doesn't show any blurred images, then you just screenshot it. Having the camera stationary will just cause a very blurry image.

Here's the picture to test

Try it with the different overdrive modes. Is overdrive disabled in motion 240 mode?
I posted mine from the Benq (XL2720Z) above.
