These things are way too loud. I don't have a fan controller so there wouldn't be a way to control them right? I have a 120mm one in the back (exhaust) and a 140mm (intake) in the front of my 690 II advanced mid tower. Too loud. What is a good replacement? I was thinking this for the back and front
I don't see anything on those fans being PWM, so if voltage control is all they are capable of, then they can be controlled via BIOS/software IF they have a 3 pin molex connector (with corresponding red/black/yellow wires) that can connect to a motherboard header. If all they have is a red/black wire molex connector that connect straight to a PSU connector you will have to get a fan controller.
Thanks. Would these be more silent then the sickle flow though? Like the sickle flow ones I have connect straight into the Mobo, does that mean I can control them in the bios? It's a p8p67 board.
Doesn't that case come with two 140mm fans in addition to the 120mm fan? I think you may have forgotten about the fan on top.
The Phanteks PH-F140SP is a great 140mm replacement, and even has a green LED variant. The 120mm version, the Phanteks PH-F120SP would also make a sensible rear replacement, but it doesn't have a green LED variant.
If green LEDs are important to you, you can also check out the lesser-performing Antec TrueQuiet or the i-hope-your-motherboard-has-voltage-control Corsair SP120.
Interestingly, I don't think that case does support a 120mm in the front. Not like you would want to.
